This café truly knows what quality means. The matcha was excellent-you can immediately tell it's made with high-quality ingredients. The White Chocolate Matcha was absolutely delicious.
The real highlight, though, was the cheesecake. It was the best cheesecake I've ever had in Canada! Creamy, perfectly balanced, & incredibly flavorful.
The tiramisu was outstanding as well. You can really taste the quality & attention to detail in everything they serve. I'll definitely be coming back & highly recommend this café!
The cafe is beautifully decorated! I really like the pastel pink, cottage-core vibe that they're going for. My family & I didn't have to wait long in line & we were given a pager that would go off when our orders were ready. I ordered the matcha latte with lavender & it was absolutely delicious! The whipped topping was very sweet & creamy, & the drink overall was super refreshing.
Korean-style cafe with fun drinks & desserts.
Even in a rainstorm close to closing, the place was packed with a line inside. We didn't feel like waiting out in the rain, so we came back the next day right at opening.
They had about 9 signature drinks, & all of them looked familiar. Slight variations on the stuff I saw at trendy cafes in Seoul. For dessert there are'fat' macarons, cakes, & some savory focaccia options (only after 1:30p). We grabbed a couple of macarons along with a pineapple americano & a matcha lavender einspänner.
The drinks here were some of the best specialty drinks I've had in North America. I got especially hooked on the Americano à l'ananas. Fruit juice americanos have been one of my favorite trends this year, & this was on par with the best versions I've had in Seoul. High-quality pineapple juice, & the ratio hit that fine line between sweet & bitter.
The macarons were amazing too. Instead of the usual thin layer of ganache or fruit jam, they were packed with a thick slab of buttercream (the ??? style that blew up in Korea a few years back). Not the super sweet version either, just a subtle sweetness.
Café Rì Yuè is easily one of the most unique cafés I've tried in Montréal. The menu is inspired by Taiwanese flavors with Japanese influences, making it a great spot if you're looking for something beyond the usual café experience.
The ube drinks & desserts are the highlights - I tried one of their ube specials, & it had the perfect balance of earthy sweetness & creaminess without being overpowering. Their matcha & other specialty drinks are also worth exploring.
If you're looking for a café with creative drinks, delicious Asian-inspired treats, & a cozy space with a great view, Café Rì Yuè is definitely worth a visit. I'll be coming back to try more of their menu.
Note: Expect a limited seating!
I loved the Ube Tiramisu, & the ambiance! This cafe was open till 7 pm when a lot of other cafes are closed. The matcha latte was also good but could definitely be better; the lavender foam was amazing though!
One of my favourite cafes in Montreal! My go to is the matcha strawberry cake & hojicha latte. Their macarons are super unique as well! It is sometimes quite hard to get a seat as this place is very popular.
Limited seating & no laptops allowed on weekends (valid!!) but this place is worth everything. Their matcha is outstanding 10/10. Friendly staff.
Always my favorite place to go to☺? super sweet & lovely staff, amazing quality of food & drinks. The prices are very reasonable considering all their cakes & macarons are made there, & not just bought & refrigerated. The coffee & matcha they use is also super good quality, never a disappointment. Not to mention, their menu is creative, & changes with the seasons. I love trying everything new they get in stock. It gets super busy which is understandable considering the good service they provide, but it can be difficult to find a table during peak hours. I'll always recommend this place!
☺?
I ordered a hot lavender matcha & it was rly good. It is a bit expensive, it was around 7.5$ for a small cup. The place is so very cute & cozy but it was very crowded, not enough seating. The service was good but it was a little slow. Overall, nice place, good matcha & good vibes.
