Food:
I could not try as much as I wanted because they sell out quickly, which honestly says a lot. The cortado was excellent: smooth, strong, & well made without being harsh. I also grabbed a bomboloni & another pastry I cannot remember the name of, & both were great. Fresh, satisfying, & exactly the kind of quick café pastry that makes you wish you had gotten there earlier to try more.
Service:
Friendly & efficient. I had to move quickly, but everything was handled smoothly.
Summary:
Easy 5/5. Even with a quick stop, the coffee & pastries made a strong impression. Definitely worth visiting before the best stuff sells out.
This place is one of the best coffee bars in Montreal! It's crazy busy, seems even more so as it is tiny inside. Lots of choices for pastries as well. We got an Affogato, hot chocolate, & tiramisu .
A tight coffee shop with the waiting line folding in on itself. Small quarters & hustle-&-bustle baristas give this place a lively yet cozy feel. Drinks come out fast & delicious, so the wait looks long but in fact goes quick. Pastries are great.
An absolute gem with great folks behind the bar. Great coffee & pastries, easy to be in & out. Impossible to leave without a smile.
This is a great little coffee shop with delicious pastries & excellent coffee.
I don't usually say this, but you can literally close your eyes & pick anything - it'll taste amazing. High-quality pastries that somehow taste better than anything I've had in Italy or NYC. Now I know Montréal has a real gem. 💎
I've tried several kinds of coffee here; all were great, but my top recommendations are the caffè crema & the cortado.
The staff is also wonderful - warm, attentive, & genuinely welcoming.
Overall, this café is a true work of art. Absolutely beautiful.
I've been to the Mile End location of this cafe, but I was downtown so I thought I'd check out this location. It was slightly underground & a little smaller, but very quaint. I ordered the Latte Freddo iced & it was a very delicious & smooth iced coffee. Whenever I'm in Montreal I do make it a point to visit this place as it is one of my favorite coffee shops in the city! They also sell Italian pastries which I have tried before at the other location. Also very good! There's a reason there's several locations of this place, it means they are doing well. Highly recommend for good coffee in Montreal!
We went here on Christmas Day. They didn't ask whether we wanted takeaway or to eat in, which really ruined the experience. Our coffee & pastries were packed poorly, & we were the only ones not given any cutlery while everyone else was.
The Nutella croissant was honestly horrendous. I am not a Nutella fan, who thought it was a good idea to stuff a croissant with such an overly processed, sugary spread?
The cappuccino was fine.
