Reviews describe a cozy, authentic space with friendly, knowledgeable staff behind the counter. The café is praised for excellent coffee and pastries, with the chocolate chip cookie repeatedly called a highlight, and the grilled cheese croissant and regular croissant scoring well. The atmosphere is described as super cozy, intimate, and conducive to hanging out, reading, or studying. A common caveat is that service can be slow, and there are occasional issues with refunds. Music can be on the louder side at times, making it less ideal for quiet relaxation. Some customers appreciate the space and natural light and the many tables for working or chatting. A striking mural on the neighborhood corner adds a note of remembrance and vitality, contributing to the sense that beauty and urgency can coexist. Overall, Café Névé is seen as one of the best coffee spots in Montreal, with high praise for the coffee, pastries, vibes, and friendly service, though a few reviews call for quieter hours and more consistent speed.
The barista working was very kind, the cookie was freshly baked, & the espresso was delicious. They also have a wide selection of coffee beans to bring home from different roasteries.
J'aime beaucoup le service au comptoir & le niveau de connaissance du personnel. J'aime l'authenticité des lieux également. Toutefois, mon expérience a été mitigée par l'incapacité de l'administration à émettre un remboursement.

If your idea of a good cafe experience is waiting 15 minutes for your coffee only to have the barista forget your order, & then ask you what you wanted initially, & then to insult you as you ask for a refund, then enjoy. For my part, I will patronize the other great cafes in the area. This place used to be wonderful, but it's gone downhill in a big way, sadly.
Pourriez-vous baisser un peu la musique, s'il vous plaît ? C'est dommage qu'elle soit si forte alors que la majorité des étudiants viennent ici pour travailler.
Kezna Dalz's mural'Ne m'oublie pas' stands out as both vibrant & heartbreaking. Its candy-colored palette contrasts powerfully with its message - a tribute to women lost to femicide & domestic violence. The work turns a neighborhood corner into a space of remembrance & awareness, reminding us that beauty & urgency can coexist, & that silence is never an option. #CafeNeve #Montreal
The chocolate chip cookie is the star of the show, the belle of the ball. It straddles the line between undercooked & perfectly cooked, which is ideal. Grilled cheese croissant is decent too, regular croissant is just fine. Nice place to sit & hangout / work.

Definitively one of the best coffee shop in Montreal. The vibe there is super cool, they have tables were you can study & others if want just to enjoy your coffee. I found the place very cosy & intimate. The service is very friendly ! I came for the cookie & it was absolutely delicious. The coffee is also very very amazing. I recommend 100% this place :) also if you buy a bag of coffee you get a free coffee that's pretty cool !
Such an amazing vibe here! The atmosphere is cozy yet lively, perfect for catching up with friends or just enjoying some quiet time. The coffee was absolutely perfect 🫶🏻 smooth, rich, & clearly made with care. You can tell they really know what they're doing here. Definitely one of my new favorite spots in Montreal, can't wait to come back! ❤?
