Reviews describe a cozy, authentic space with friendly, knowledgeable staff behind the counter. The café is praised for excellent coffee and pastries, with the chocolate chip cookie repeatedly called a highlight, and the grilled cheese croissant and regular croissant scoring well. The atmosphere is described as super cozy, intimate, and conducive to hanging out, reading, or studying. A common caveat is that service can be slow, and there are occasional issues with refunds. Music can be on the louder side at times, making it less ideal for quiet relaxation. Some customers appreciate the space and natural light and the many tables for working or chatting. A striking mural on the neighborhood corner adds a note of remembrance and vitality, contributing to the sense that beauty and urgency can coexist. Overall, Café Névé is seen as one of the best coffee spots in Montreal, with high praise for the coffee, pastries, vibes, and friendly service, though a few reviews call for quieter hours and more consistent speed.
The barista working was very kind, the cookie was freshly baked, & the espresso was delicious. They also have a wide selection of coffee beans to bring home from different roasteries.

The chocolate chip cookie is the star of the show, the belle of the ball. It straddles the line between undercooked & perfectly cooked, which is ideal. Grilled cheese croissant is decent too, regular croissant is just fine. Nice place to sit & hangout / work.
Definitively one of the best coffee shop in Montreal. The vibe there is super cool, they have tables were you can study & others if want just to enjoy your coffee. I found the place very cosy & intimate. The service is very friendly ! I came for the cookie & it was absolutely delicious. The coffee is also very very amazing. I recommend 100% this place :) also if you buy a bag of coffee you get a free coffee that's pretty cool !
Nice cafe for working. There are some renovations coming soon as well. I came for the famous cookie. They had caramel white chocolate, chocolate chip, & Reeses peanut butter chocolate cookie. I ordered the chocolate chip & it was big, tasty, & chewy. For CAD$4.60. The manager was super friendly as well.
This used to be our favourite place in the city. Their food menu was amazing, & the coffee was good. A few months ago they decided to reduce the staff & stopped making any food except baked goods. The cookies are good, but we were bagel people. Service got noticeably slow too. Seems like the owners are trying to cut costs, & honestly we just started going somewhere else to get a proper breakfast.

Great coffee, atmosphere & cookie but the service was poor. I have rarely seen staff that disagreeable & unfriendly. Not a word, not a smile & the plates basically thrown on the table.

Amazing study spot with literally the BEST cookies. Honestly... the cookie blew me away. The white chocolate nut cookie is the best, IMO (but very very sweet). Really good coffee & super chill & friendly vibe. The place always smells delicious. Sandwiches are really good but a littlleeee pricey
Really good chocolate 🍫 chip cookies 🍪
We recalled this coffee shop as we visited during Covid. As we remember, it’s a small coffee shop located on the street corner with little seating places inside. The chocolate chip cookies were delicious & the service was good. Finding parking in this area can be challenging, Street parking is free until 1 o’clock on Sundays. Otherwise you need to pay.
