Reviews describe a cozy, authentic space with friendly, knowledgeable staff behind the counter. The café is praised for excellent coffee and pastries, with the chocolate chip cookie repeatedly called a highlight, and the grilled cheese croissant and regular croissant scoring well. The atmosphere is described as super cozy, intimate, and conducive to hanging out, reading, or studying. A common caveat is that service can be slow, and there are occasional issues with refunds. Music can be on the louder side at times, making it less ideal for quiet relaxation. Some customers appreciate the space and natural light and the many tables for working or chatting. A striking mural on the neighborhood corner adds a note of remembrance and vitality, contributing to the sense that beauty and urgency can coexist. Overall, Café Névé is seen as one of the best coffee spots in Montreal, with high praise for the coffee, pastries, vibes, and friendly service, though a few reviews call for quieter hours and more consistent speed.
If your idea of a good cafe experience is waiting 15 minutes for your coffee only to have the barista forget your order, & then ask you what you wanted initially, & then to insult you as you ask for a refund, then enjoy. For my part, I will patronize the other great cafes in the area. This place used to be wonderful, but it's gone downhill in a big way, sadly.

Kezna Dalz's mural'Ne m'oublie pas' stands out as both vibrant & heartbreaking. Its candy-colored palette contrasts powerfully with its message - a tribute to women lost to femicide & domestic violence. The work turns a neighborhood corner into a space of remembrance & awareness, reminding us that beauty & urgency can coexist, & that silence is never an option. #CafeNeve #Montreal
Looking for a café to grab my afternoon caffeine fix, stumbled upon this neighborhood spot. All the tables were taken by students preparing for their finals, which brought back fond memories of my own student days.

Michel

Nice cafe for working. There are some renovations coming soon as well. I came for the famous cookie. They had caramel white chocolate, chocolate chip, & Reeses peanut butter chocolate cookie. I ordered the chocolate chip & it was big, tasty, & chewy. For CAD$4.60. The manager was super friendly as well.
Nous y sommes arrêté le weekend dernier pour un café & nous n'avons pas été déçus! L'endroit est joli & le café est excellent! Nous y arrêterons certainement à nouveau la prochaine fois que nous serons dans le coin! 🙂
