Figata is just a really solid Italian restaurant that gets the basics right-& that's exactly why it works.
The vibe is warm & relaxed without feeling trendy or overdesigned. It's comfortable, well-lit, & feels like a place meant for eating & talking, not taking selfies. You sit down, order a glass of wine, & you're immediately at ease.
The food is the star. The pasta is excellent across the board: properly cooked, well-seasoned, & not drowned in sauce. The flavors are clean & confident. Nothing feels overworked or gimmicky. Whether it's a creamy mushroom pasta or a tomato-based dish finished with cheese, it tastes like someone in the kitchen actually knows what they're doing.
The appetizers are simple & done right. Burrata is fresh & creamy, vegetables are treated properly, & everything tastes like quality ingredients instead of kitchen tricks. It's classic Italian cooking with restraint, which is harder to find than it should be.
Service is friendly, efficient, & knows when to leave you alone. No hovering, no attitude, no upselling nonsense. Just solid, professional service. The wine list is strong, leans Italian, & pairs well with the menu without being overpriced.
Figata doesn't try to reinvent Italian food or chase trends. It focuses on execution, consistency, & comfort-& it delivers on all three. If you want dependable, well-made Italian food in Montreal, this is an easy five-star spot & a place you'll want to come back to.
This restaurant is a beautiful addition to the Montreal restaurant scene! So I'll just review item by item
Cesar salad best I've had in mtl by a mile
Spiral fries a little overhyped still yummy however
Calamari frito was so so so so so gooood crispy perfectly seasoned so fresh very good
Focaccia a little bit salty not my favorite
The vodka sauce pasta was just nuts best meal of the night spectacular
Tiramisú was on same level as the pasta so so good.
The two pastas we got could use a bit more salt. Great atmosphere & portions, nice wine selection
I am updating the review as it is now open as a restaurent. I came with my friend & we split the bufala & the mushroom sausage pasta. I think the bufala could maybe have a bit more flavour, but still very good. The pasta was very delicious. We had a tiramisu for dessert which was super yummy.
The service was good, & the atmosphere very nice!

Cute coffee counter! Prices are very reasonable for a to go coffee. Great spot to stop if your on a walk. Will be nice when the full location is open with seating. Didn't get any food, so can't rate it.
Outstanding! Food was fresh, delicious & the portions are very generous. Impeccable service - the polpettes & the vongole pasta were absolute hits. Warm foccacia was also devoured. So nice to have delicious Italian in the neighbourhood! Would absolutely go back
Warm & vibrant - Figata serves up great food & drinks in an unpretentious way. Meatballs were to die for, pasta was perfect, sauces were delicious. Definitely spring for the focaccia! It's fluffy, not dense. I already can't wait to go back!
