Service & atmosphere was by far the best parts of the experience. Celia was fantastic, thoughtful, caring & personable. Style combines trendy but classic Italian. Playlist was awesome. Great drinks & some interesting takes on classics. can tell there is imagination behind the scenes.
Food was overall decent, but could be improved. Felt caesar salad was lacking flavour (other reviews said it was very anchovy forward which I didn't feel at all). Asked for extra salt & pepper even. Had the mushroom pasta, the pasta itself was well cooked & fresh but sauce was also lacking salt & umami.
Crudo was great. A bit sweet at first but actually goes well with the chilis.
Lamb skewers were solid. Frito misto was nicely breaded, fresh.
Dessert was interesting, there was a lot going on for one plate (cinnamon/brown sugar, pistachio, blueberry compote & a cream, plus pecans) but well baked, moist, gelato was good.
Overall I prefer the food at Amerigo, decent place for date night. Cost $200 plus tip, including two cocktails.
Every dish was delicious & unique! Me & my partner loved the bone marrow dish which came with a brandy shot that she got to drink from the bone. We also loved the vintage Italian ambience & the excellent service. The staff also sent me a text after because they thought that I had left a pair of sunglasses behind. I did not, they belonged to another patron, but I appreciated their attention to detail & desire to create a good experience for their guests (even if they weren't mine lol). I will definitely come back to Figata again, the next time I'm in Montreal!
Wife & I had two separate visits to this wonderful Italian bistro in the last few weeks & both times the experience was fantastic.
Great food, wonderfully attentive service & an eclectic charm that made us feel right at home.
Shout out to Meghan who was our server on both occasions.
Definitely moved onto our favourites list !
Reservations are a very good idea as it fills up quickly on the weekends ( Thurs-Sun ).
desserts are delightful as well.
Great wine list.
Great Italian American restaurant with a good selection of Negronis. I had doubts because of the hype, but everything exceeded my expactations. Food was really good, the star for us, the Octopus with the beans. Pasta are classics & you can't go wrong. Tiramisu was a perfect way to end a dinner with an espresso. They also have a little Figata coffee shop so coffee is great. Our server Pasha was perfect & everything was handled with a cool & relaxing feel until the end, exactly what you want for an night out. Go there early if you have kids & later of you want a supper club vibe.
A warm, nonna-inspired Italian dining experience in St-Henri defined by comfort, restraint, & familiarity, supported by a cozy ambience & a thoughtfully curated oldies soundtrack that enhanced atmosphere without overwhelming conversation.
Culinarily, the grilled octopus (polpo) stood out as a clear highlight-well-executed with confident texture control & balanced seasoning, reflecting strong kitchen technique & precision.
The pasta alla zozzona was indulgent & satisfying in concept, though slightly oversalted, which at moments overshadowed its richness. The beef carpaccio similarly leaned salt-forward, with seasoning exceeding the delicacy of the raw beef. This was also noted in the focaccia which was our attempt to absorb the saltiness of the beef.
The St-Germain spritz provided a light, aromatic counterpoint, while the tiramisu delivered a classic, well-structured finish with appropriate balance of cocoa, cream, & coffee bitterness.
Overall, the experience remained cohesive & inviting-anchored by standout execution in select dishes, softened by a warm atmosphere, with minor seasoning inconsistencies preventing full refinement but not diminishing the restaurant's return appeal.
