Café Chat L'Heureux is a welcoming, spacious cat cafe where resident cats roam freely and add a warm, relaxing vibe to a cozy space. Reviews praise friendly staff, solid coffee and desserts, vegetarian friendly options, and cats that are well cared for and often sociable, making it a hit with cat lovers and families. The experience is described as calming and enjoyable, though weekends can be crowded and noisy with longer waits for drinks or seating, and on some visits the cats' interaction time felt limited. Some diners mention slow service or variable cleanliness and price, often explained as supporting the cats, while others find the prices reasonable for the experience. A few emphasize supervising children around the cats to keep them comfortable. Overall, Café Chat L'Heureux is a charming spot to hang out with cats and enjoy drinks or light bites, with experiences that vary by day and crowd.
Came to visit on a weekend for some refreshing lemonade drinks. The drinks were cooling but tasted okay.
The place is quite spacious, with a few interesting decor. I like how we have information about the cats to learn more about them. However, the space did feel a little unmaintained & dusty in some corners.
*cat toys are available
*it was very noisy. The staff let the children run around, scream, & chase the cats away. It was also very distracting to have such loud customers 🙄 the kids almost spilled my drink a few times too
*the washroom stank 😒 of unmaintained cat litter. You have to hold your breath when you open the door to the washroom until you are out of it.
Overall, not a perfect experience when I visited. You'll need lots of patience when visiting the place. I wouldn't recommend the place for people who seek to play with cats while relaxing with a drink or small snack. It is quite disappointing as the space has lots of missed potential.
Our visit to Chat L'heureux was a very nice experience. It was fun to see the cats roaming around the café. I didn't mind it but most cats were sleepy (we came at around noon).
The'cat gentlemen' grilled cheese was good. The'cat lady' grilled cheese, which is supposed to have fig jam & honey, didn't taste sweet at all. I wouldn't recommend the drinks as well (we had an iced coffee & a smoothie, both weren't good).
Overall, I would come back to hang around the nice cats & probably try one of their desserts. Customer service was good.

Love the idea, but it works better on paper than live. The cats are simply not that interested in people, because by nature, cats prefer sleeping during the day. Some parents should teach their kids to be gentle with the cats; at least, clients seems to be aware to to talk too loud so it's a pretty quiet place. The service was rather slow however, but food was good. Happy I tried, but I probably won't return.
The desserts & coffee were good, but the cats were not as prominent as in some cat cafes. There were 5 & 4 of them slept the whole time & 1 was not interested in getting pets.
It would be great if they had a room of adoptable cats rather than just 5 cats in a quite large restaurant. It was a very nice time despite the lack of cats :-)

The cats were adorable & interacted with people alot , food was amazing also! Definetly worth the price.
Note : Please do not bring your kids if they can't behave themselves , a mom had brought her 2 hellspawns & they were scaring the cats by running around the café & screeching
Bon café & sandwich parcontre la serveuse nous a fait sentir qu'on étais de trop; elle m'a demander si je prenais pour emporter alors que ça fesais même pas 30 min que j'étais là avec mon copain & j'avais même pas finit ma sandwich. Ça a brisé l'ambiance...
Aussi pour un grill-cheese c'étais trop cher (15$)...
Nice place for a meet-up & chill. There are around 6 cats (I'm sure there are more).
It is essential to know cats are cats (at least knowing their behaviour is good as to why they are not mostly around for petting).
I enjoyed being there with a good friend & making jokes for cats.
Also, there is a famous German Painter (cat) at this place, if you know what I mean 😂. (I added one photo of the cat)

I am obsessed with cats, & this is the best place. The eight resident cats are incredibly cute & sweet. They Raul around & are very playful, especially Charlie. He was attracted to my book. The food is also good, healthy & very affordable. I will go back when I am in Montreal again
