Le pub typiquement anglais se présentait originalement comme une maison publique, où des familles au complet se rendaient après le souper. À défaut de posséder un logement assez grand pour recevoir leurs amis, elles fréquentaient ce type d'endroit afin d'échanger, de fraterniser et de jouer à des jeux de société.
Dans l ensemble, Brutopia se présente comme un pub chaleureux avec une ambiance conviviale et une belle sélection de bières artisanales; les plats restent simples mais généreux, du burger à la pulled pork poutine, et les amuse-bouches comme les nachos complètent les soirées avec musique live, trivia et open mic qui créent une atmosphère animée même si le niveau sonore peut être élevé lors des animations; l espace est petit et cosy, propice aux rencontres entre amis et aux grands groupes, et le service est globalement sympathique et efficace, même si certains clients signalent des oublis de commande ou des moments de confusion à l addition; les bières, souvent locales ou exclusives, sont régulièrement appréciées et accompagnent bien la cuisine, même si l offre peut varier et que la constance des brassins peut fluctuer selon les soirées; l emplacement central et le caractère de quartier renforcent l attrait pour une expérience pub typique avec une ambiance chaleureuse et des soirées animées.
This is a solid spot to stop in for a quick pint & some genuinely good beer. We dropped by on Saturday before a concert at the Bell Centre & were pleasantly surprised. Service was fast, & there was plenty of space when we walked in.
I had the nut brown ale, which was smooth & well balanced. My wife went with the West Coast IPA & enjoyed it just as much. Two beers for $20 isn't bad for downtown Montreal, especially on Crescent Street.
They offer around a dozen house-brewed beers on tap, along with a few guest taps. Overall, a reliable place to grab a beer before an event.

There's a super creepy bartender upstairs, white guy with a short trimmed beard that gets drunk while working, then he will pressure you into trying to get you drunk by giving you free drinks while acting super sexual & creepy... but as soon as you say you're not interested he gets hostile, rude & then tries to charge you for the drinks he said he would give you for free!! THIS PLACE IS NOT SAFE FOR WOMEN AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Cracking atmosphere with a live band, was quite loud so hard to talk especially when the place is busy but really lovely atmosphere to be around so many others.
Good selection of beers made on site at their brewery, some other drinks other than beers you can have too but you go for the beer. A good visit if you want a drink.
This is my friends' fav spot. It's super safe & the live music is awesome. Their cocktails are great & my friends love their beers. Their pitchers of sangria are also great to split between a bunch of people. Their food is alright & good for snacking. There is usually seating for big groups. The service is pretty friendly & quick but sometimes the waiters don't always remember who got what & it can be a bit of a headache when closing all the tabs. The place is great to catch up with friends but sometimes the music can be a bit too loud & it's better to be in their patio area since it is quieter. I also love that the bathrooms are usually very clean.
Was there on a trivia night, so the noise level was louder than a typical night, but me & my group still had a good time! Drinks were good, food was great, & our server was awesome (& patient, given the number of us in her section!). Would absolutely go back whenever I'm in the city.
Le lieu aurait besoin d'un peu d'amour. Le service était sympathique, mais les produits demeurent le point faible. Il y a une grande variété, mais la qualité des brassins est plutôt ordinaire. Aucun produit n'a de facteur « wow » ! On est dans du simpliste. Par contre, l'emplacement proche du Centre Bell est stratégique.
Cozy little brewery in Montreal! We were here for the day & stopped in to have a local beer & the pulled pork poutine. Was top tier. The bar tender was friendly & it was nice to talk to some locals at the bar. Was a very warm & inviting atmosphere especially with it being so cold outside. A full bar, small tables, & a little stage inside. Wish we got to see some live music, maybe next time. Overall, great beer & poutine!
A lovely spot with a nice selection of beer (including an ipa from wellington, new zealand which reminded me of the good days beer hopping there while studying), good food & really lovely service. A small place & can get pretty busy but it is also good proof that you can't go wrong with simplicity when it is done well.
J'ai découvert ce petit pub hier soir grâce à une amie. Ça m'a rappelé mes années à Concordia. J'ai adoré leur IPA & le cheeseburger avec salade était parfait aussi. La prochaine fois je vais revenir pour écouter un band ou un chanteur.
