Le pub typiquement anglais se présentait originalement comme une maison publique, où des familles au complet se rendaient après le souper. À défaut de posséder un logement assez grand pour recevoir leurs amis, elles fréquentaient ce type d'endroit afin d'échanger, de fraterniser et de jouer à des jeux de société.
Brutopia est décrit comme un endroit chaleureux et accueillant pour les amateurs de bière artisanale et de musique live, avec une belle sélection de bières maison, une ambiance à la fois animée et cosy et un personnel sympathique. Un espace à l'étage fonctionne bien pour les groupes, les weekends avec musique live et des soirées open mic animent les nuits de fin de semaine, et l'emplacement près du centre-ville de Montréal est pratique avant les événements. Les bières et la nourriture reçoivent des éloges, avec des plats comme les ailes, les nachos et la poutine, et un bon rapport qualité-prix. Certains points négatifs apparaissent parfois comme des bières qui paraissent diluées, quelques plats qui ont été surcuits, et des niveaux de bruit élevés lors des périodes d'affluence, mais l'impression générale est celle d'un brewpub de quartier fiable avec un service chaleureux.
Came in for Jazzfest one year, the place started playing the song Rich Girl by Hall & Oates as soon as I sat down. Another coincidence? They love to troll people & make their experience as uncomfortable as possible. This is a place I used to go to very often 20 years ago, I guess I'm not longer young enough to deserve basic respect. Jazz was shit too by the way.
Waste of time. I guess they did not like the look of a 50 something white guy so they said all their open seats were reserved. They actually wanted me to stand in the hallway & asked me if I'really' wanted a drink. I understand they want to make money but I was never made to feel so uncomfortable. They should be ashamed if themselves. Anyway I went to the next bar Hurleys, & bought a few rounds for some college kids & tipped the bartender there generously. Simply because they were nice & courteous. Look at all my reviews, I never bash a place. But this place may be the worst I have experienced. Not because it was bad, but because the girl bartender did not like the look of me. I dont feel bad because karma bites. Owners should counsel this girl because I may have been the only person in the bar buying rounds & she chased me out?
Excellente découverte !! Très beau pub & très bonne bière de microbrasserie, le barman est très accueillant :)
Ambiance unique, il y a une scène pour des spectacles/stand up.
Nous y reviendrons !!!!

Quel bel après-midi, assis sur la terrasse sirotant quelques bières avec ma femme. La température est excellente. Après avoir marché près de 2 hres de tout côté. Dégusté une excellente bière fraîche fini trés bien cette magnifique journée. Excellent service, belle variété de bières. Produits originals.

We hate to spend more than an hour at any spot when we travel, but we loved this spot so much that we came back an hour later! Samantha is the nicest bartender & the vibes are on point. This place is a must visit if you're in montreal!
The beer is legit, & goth tattooed bartender is awesome (she knows how to pour a good stout) & hot. Overall, this is a solid spot. Would absolutely recommend.
Awesome atmosphere, great service, & tremendous food with a solid beer selection. The pub has charming old Irish décor, & you can tell it has a loyal following lots of repeat customers that really add to the warm, local vibe. They also have fantastic live music on weekends.
There's a huge yet cozy upstairs space that's perfect if you're going with a group of 10 or more. While the beers are good, Montreal has so many incredible breweries that they're not quite at that level …some felt slightly watered down. That said, we ordered three starters & all of them were excellent, especially the chicken wings tossed in their special spicy sauce.
Had the pleasure of hanging out with the crew of Brutopia while I was in downtown Montreal visiting. This is a super great spot if you like craft beer, local entertainment, & a laid back chill environment. The only improvement I can think of is that my tacos were a bit overcooked & dry. Other than that small misstep this place is wonderful & I will be back! Thank Brutopia crew!
I was fortunate to find this cozy little bar when I was in Montreal recently. I was looking for a brew pub to try out some local beers & Brutopia left me very satisfied. The New England IPA was my favourite, but I also enjoyed the Green Phantom Ale (actually green) & the La Duchesses IPA.
Furthermore, the food was tasty & inexpensive. We enjoyed the Nachos, but the home made BBQ sauce that came with the hot wings was uniquely delicious.
