Review Summary

Brutopia is described as a lively downtown Montreal pub with a solid lineup of house brewed beers, some guest taps, and a welcoming casual vibe. Reviewers note frequent live music and open mic nights that add a friendly, neighborhood feel, a small stage, and a bustling yet accommodating atmosphere. The beer selection is praised for freshness and variety, with favorites like nut brown ale, a West Coast IPA, and stout mentioned, and overall quality described as reliable. Food receives mixed but generally positive comments, with crowd pleasers like burgers and poutine, though a few dishes are noted for consistency. Service is described as friendly and efficient on many visits, though some experiences mention delays or order mix ups during peak times. The space is portrayed as cozy and intimate yet busy, with a welcoming vibe and clean facilities, and the patio is suggested for a quieter experience when the music is loud.

Rude people got me to leave after I spent 20 bucks (beer & fries) on a Monday when it wasn't even packed real early in the day too. Do I absolutely have to spend something every hour just to be treated nicely? Especially when the bar is pretty much empty. I hate bars that have this attitude with specific people like me. All I did was talk to bartender & I brought my guitar & barely even made a sound... Sunday night with Les & Sam was dope though at least some people arent assholes. Really enjoyed open mic night but the next Monday was terrible service.

I was fortunate to find this cozy little bar when I was in Montreal recently. I was looking for a brew pub to try out some local beers & Brutopia left me very satisfied. The New England IPA was my favourite, but I also enjoyed the Green Phantom Ale (actually green) & the La Duchesses IPA.
Furthermore, the food was tasty & inexpensive. We enjoyed the Nachos, but the home made BBQ sauce that came with the hot wings was uniquely delicious.

One of the best Brew/Bars downtown for Beer enthusiasts. Whole friend group who isn't crazy about beer all loved it, homebrewed goodness, very good cider & can't recommend the poutine enough 🔥

This is a solid spot to stop in for a quick pint & some genuinely good beer. We dropped by on Saturday before a concert at the Bell Centre & were pleasantly surprised. Service was fast, & there was plenty of space when we walked in.

I had the nut brown ale, which was smooth & well balanced. My wife went with the West Coast IPA & enjoyed it just as much. Two beers for $20 isn't bad for downtown Montreal, especially on Crescent Street.

They offer around a dozen house-brewed beers on tap, along with a few guest taps. Overall, a reliable place to grab a beer before an event.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS - DO NOT GO IF YOU'RE A GIRL ALONE!!!

There's a super creepy bartender upstairs, white guy with a short trimmed beard that gets drunk while working, then he will pressure you into trying to get you drunk by giving you free drinks while acting super sexual & creepy... but as soon as you say you're not interested he gets hostile, rude & then tries to charge you for the drinks he said he would give you for free!! THIS PLACE IS NOT SAFE FOR WOMEN AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Cracking atmosphere with a live band, was quite loud so hard to talk especially when the place is busy but really lovely atmosphere to be around so many others.

Good selection of beers made on site at their brewery, some other drinks other than beers you can have too but you go for the beer. A good visit if you want a drink.

This is my friends' fav spot. It's super safe & the live music is awesome. Their cocktails are great & my friends love their beers. Their pitchers of sangria are also great to split between a bunch of people. Their food is alright & good for snacking. There is usually seating for big groups. The service is pretty friendly & quick but sometimes the waiters don't always remember who got what & it can be a bit of a headache when closing all the tabs. The place is great to catch up with friends but sometimes the music can be a bit too loud & it's better to be in their patio area since it is quieter. I also love that the bathrooms are usually very clean.

Was there on a trivia night, so the noise level was louder than a typical night, but me & my group still had a good time! Drinks were good, food was great, & our server was awesome (& patient, given the number of us in her section!). Would absolutely go back whenever I'm in the city.

Cozy little brewery in Montreal! We were here for the day & stopped in to have a local beer & the pulled pork poutine. Was top tier. The bar tender was friendly & it was nice to talk to some locals at the bar. Was a very warm & inviting atmosphere especially with it being so cold outside. A full bar, small tables, & a little stage inside. Wish we got to see some live music, maybe next time. Overall, great beer & poutine!
