We were in Montreal for a 3 day weekend, tried a lot of really good fancy food places. But it was Boustan that knocked our socks off. We got a beef shawarma & the chicken shawarma poutine, OMG. We had the smoked meat poutine at Schwartz's earlier & thought that was good, this chicken one at Boustan blew it away. Absolutely delicious. Probably our favorite thing all weekend. Obviously non traditional, made with seasoned roasted potatoes, we asked for extra garlic sauce, to die for. The beef combo was great too, really good falafel as well. We will be back every time we are in the city.
I got my favourite veggie pita today & to my great surprise it had nothing to do with the way Boustan used to serve it. This used to be a wonderful sandwich with the little pancake thing, fried cauliflower, eggplant, Boustan potatoes, cabbage…. Today I got the sadest iteration of the OG veggie sandwich with none of the classic ingredients except potato & some really weird mushrooms? Please Boustan fix this situation asap & bring back the real veggie pita. TYSM
The "OG" location - This is by far my favourite quick eats spot in Montreal. The best chicken shawarma I have ever had, & amazing garlic potatoes. Very friendly service as well - doesn't matter if it's been months since my last visit, when I walk in they are already making my order & remember the extra turnips 🥰
À must stop every time I'm in Montreal! The staff is always friendly & welcoming, & the food is like a party in my mouth. From the perfectly seasoned potatoes to the flavorful shawarma, every bite is pure joy, it like a party in my mouth. I'm so happy they've franchised in several other locations too. Le personnel est toujours accueillant & sympathique servant de l'excellente nourriture, c'est une fête pour les papilles gustatives. Des pommes de terre parfaitement assaisonnées au shawarma savoureux, chaque bouchée est un pur bonheur comme un party à chaque bouchée. Je suis tellement heureux qu'ils aient ouvert des franchises, les meilleurs sont maintenant disponibles ailleurs au Québec.J'ai hâte à m prochaine visite.
This is an institution in Montreal & has been around forever, so I figured I had to try it. I got the mixed shawarma pita with the garlic potatoes. It was pretty good, but definitely not anywhere near the best I've ever had. The potatoes were old & pretty dry, the only thing that saved them was the garlic mayo, which was super good, extremely garlicky. It was so good I added it to the shawarma too, because it was a bit dry. It's a small dingy kind of partially underground eatery with a bit of seating outside, nothing special. I would hope there are better shawarma places in Montreal.
I've been multiple times, & I love their food & service. It's delicious, & the potatoes are sweet & flavorful. Their garlic aïoli is stellar with a good amount of garlic in there. & their sauces are also great.
I'm from NY & my coworker asked what's good to eat in Montreal & I told him he must try this place. Every time I go to Montreal, I make sure I eat this at least once a day. The white sauce they put on the potatoes is so good that I asked them if they can give me a big container to take home & I would pay for it. He gave me a Chinese soup container size amount & since I came from NY he didn't even charge me! What a kind staff member.
Boustan's Crescent catered for our group of 50 people with excellent service every step of the way. They accommodated vegan & gluten free diners with delicious food! The Shiitake mushrooms were cooked so well some of the group couldn't believe they were mushrooms & not chicken. Garlic potatoes of course are a fan favourite, I will be stopping by for my personal lunches as well!
