Review Summary

Bous is widely regarded as a standout destination in Montreal, offering an elevated and modern approach to authentic Persian cuisine. Guests frequently praise the restaurant for its high quality ingredients, flavorful charcoal grilled kebabs, and thoughtfully crafted dishes like the fesenjoon and tahchin. The atmosphere is consistently described as elegant, chic, and warm, providing a sophisticated backdrop that honors Iranian culture without feeling stereotypical. While most visitors find the service professional and the experience memorable, some note that the fine dining portion sizes and pricing may not align with expectations for those accustomed to traditional, larger-format Persian meals. Overall, the restaurant is celebrated as a beautiful gem perfect for special occasions, date nights, or introducing friends to high-end Persian hospitality.

BOUS is truly the place to experience authentic Persian food in a modern, elegant setting. The quality of the ingredients, the depth of flavor, & the attention to detail in every dish are incredible. Every element feels intentional, & each dish tells a story.

The homemade yogurt is unlike anything you find in stores or at most restaurants. It adds richness, balance, & complexity to the meal in such a beautiful way. The kebabs are also exceptional. Unlike many Persian restaurants, they use a charcoal grill, which gives the meat that deep, smoky flavor that kebabs are meant to have. The chicken kebab is hands down the best I've ever had! Tender, juicy, perfectly balanced, & full of flavor.
The kashk-e bademjoon with sangak bread is another standout. It pairs so well together & is absolutely worth ordering.
The stews are also excellent, especially the fesenjoon, which is traditionally made with duck. It's rich, comforting, & deeply flavorful.
The drinks are just as memorable. They're unique, refreshing, & full of character, with each one feeling rooted in Iranian culture.
The desserts are also effortlessly amazing. The faloodeh is so refreshing, with the perfect sweet-&-sour balance, & it's something you simply cannot find at this level of quality just anywhere. Their saffron ice cream sandwich is another must-try. It's made with a traditional ghorabieh cookie, one of my favorite Persian cookies, & the combination works beautifully.

The atmosphere at BOUS is warm, welcoming, chic, & absolutely gorgeous. It feels modern without losing the soul of Persian hospitality. It's refreshing to see Persian food presented with such care & high standards while still honoring its core flavors & identity.

BOUS is doing justice to Persian cuisine in the modern era. It's the perfect place to introduce friends to Persian food, & a restaurant that truly celebrates the beauty, depth, & richness of Iranian culture.

Lovely space & great ambiance. You can see they thought of quality for the furniture & decor, it does feel high end, sleek yet warm. I went for lunch & the service was very friendly, attentive & helped us select from the menu. The food was very good, you can also tell they use quality ingredients. Portions were perfect & the formula including appetizer & main meal is well priced (in a city where much of everything is now overpriced & lacks quality). The space is great for groups also, so I am looking forward to bring a group for an evening dinner. I definetely recommend the experience.

I really wanted to love this restaurant. First off, the staff & atmosphere were absolutely fabulous. They could not have been nicer or better. You feel that you're in a chic museum. The mocktails were great. But here's the rub: the only food that lived up to the above was the kashk-o-bodemjaan. The ghormeh sabzi with lamb had lamb that was well cooked (fell off the bone) but the meat was under salted. The ghormeh sabzi itself was not properly sour & had a very mild flavor (should be sour from the dried limes). It also didn't seem to have adequate fenugreek. The barg was also under-salted but otherwise had a very nice char to it. But you can't make up for not pre-salting meat adequately after the fact. The salad shirizi was well presented & fine but tiny. The saffron rice had to be ordered separately from the kebab/khoresh, & seemingly there was no option to get tadigh. Maybe something like Rumi's Kitchen where you can order a tadigh app with a khoresh on top would be good? & no sumac was included with the kabob which would have been nice. I hope they keep fine tuning because I really want them to succeed & all the ingredients are there with a few tweaks.

Bous is hands down one of the best Persian restaurants I've been to. The food is incredibly fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented. Every dish was perfectly seasoned & tasted authentic, with generous portions & high-quality ingredients.

The service was warm, attentive, & welcoming from the moment we arrived. A special thank you to Omar, who was absolutely excellent-professional, friendly, attentive, & genuinely made our dining experience even more enjoyable.

The atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable, making it perfect for both a casual dinner & a special occasion. The kebabs were exceptionally tender, the rice was perfectly prepared, & the appetizers were outstanding. You can truly tell that a lot of care goes into every detail.

If you're looking for authentic Persian cuisine & exceptional service, I highly recommend Bous. We will definitely be back!

Very unique blend of modern food serving & Persian cuisine. Best in class ingredients used.
Authentic persian rice with butter used for cooking. Signature Koobideh: 100% lamb & awesome meat flavor.
Loved it!
Definitely would recommend Bareberry Bloom from the drinks menu if you adore non-alcoholic sweet & sour.

An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The restaurant is located in a premium area & has a beautiful interior design that perfectly balances minimalism & elegance. The Persian rugs & artwork add a sophisticated cultural touch, creating a warm yet upscale atmosphere.

The food was absolutely delicious & there were excellent vegetarian options available. We tried the vegetarian Ghormeh Sabzi with Tahchin, & the combination was outstanding; rich, flavorful, & beautifully prepared.

The drink menu was equally impressive, featuring unique signature cocktails inspired by Persian ingredients & flavors. Every drink felt creative & thoughtfully crafted.

The staff were friendly, attentive, & highly professional, making the entire experience even more enjoyable.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for elevated Persian cuisine, great cocktails, & a refined dining atmosphere.

Honest review from a Persian person who grew up on this stuff: This is genuine persian food with modern touches. We had the kashk bademjoon (eggplant spread/dip) & the noon barbari (persian flat bread) & the mast-o-khiar (yoghurt cucumber dip). & we had the khoobeedeh & the barg (two styles of beef kababs) with the saffron rice. The koobideh was good, juicy but not oily, & the barg was very tender. We also had the shirazi salad (it was good but i prefer it with more lemon juice but my girlfriend liked it a lot). Lastly we had their dessert & tea.

Let me be clear, this is a solid place to enjoy persian food, or to introduce persian food to your friends or to bring a date.

Its not a typical persian spot that gives you too much rice & two giant skewers of kobideh, this is more of an experience coupled with great persian food & awesome service! Money well spent!

They also had incredible mocktails with classic persian ingredients like saffron & rose water.

There are also beautiful persian rugs hung on the walls & the aromatic persian food makes you so hungry. We are definitely coming back to try their other options like the fesenjoon & jojeh kabob.
Go support them!
