Review Summary

Overall, reviews for Boulangerie Ange show a mix of strengths and weaknesses: many praise the bread, croissants, pastries and tartelettes, plus a clean, welcoming space, while others report old or dry bread, inconsistent hours, slow or disorganized service, and occasional price concerns or perceived value issues. There are also mentions of moments of strong customer care and quick coffee service, but several visits are described as frustrating due to organization, wait times, or gaps between what is offered and expectations. Still, the bakery remains a popular spot for pastries and casual bites and is viewed as having room for improvement rather than a reason to avoid the establishment.

Simply the best baguettes you can find in Brossard. Crispy on the outside yet tender on the inside. The bulle d'ange are a must & the pastries are delicious.
The only downside of this place is the service & the queuing system. You are supposed to take a number to get served but no one follows this system including staff members. The numbers could be more prominent & the staff should really ask people to take a number. Consequently people just gather left & right & as a customer you need to make sure you are not forgotten.
That would be ok if there were service. The staff seems always busier moving things around on display than actually serving customers. I went on Monday & had to watch someone'number' a bunch pf sandwiches before even looking at us clients waiting. It's extremely frustrating!
Premiere moisson in dix30 has someone handing you a number at the entrance & the staff is there to assist us not just move sandwiches around.

As someone who worked in the food industry, I completely understand that employees want to start cleaning before closing time. I truly respect that & I know how important it is to finish closing tasks on time.

However, during my visit today I witnessed something concerning from a food safety perspective. About one hour before closing, an employee started cleaning the display shelves & the refrigerated pastry case while food was still inside. They moved one tray but left the others in place & were cleaning the surface with soap & a cloth, splashing soapy water very close to the pastries that were still being sold.

Even if the store is close to closing, cleaning chemicals should never be used near exposed food. The risk of cross-contamination is significant & could potentially make someone sick.

Again, I completely understand the need to clean before closing, but basic food safety practices require that food be removed or properly protected before cleaning with chemicals.

I hope management reviews this with the team because food safety standards are extremely important.

If you didn't have time to eat breakfast at home & your drive across the mall & you are very early for going to work. I propose you to go to the Coffee n Pastries Ange, a place with pastries, coffee, pizza, sandwiches, etc… You can order for take out inside. The food is delicious & the smell inside is clean. The service is quick & the atmosphere is moderate but you can still talk

A lovely pastry & bakery.
Positives.
Good variety
Pastry, desserts of various types, cakes, sandwiches etc. various hot beverages & proper coffee with an excellent coffee & espresso cappuccino machine etc.

Place appears very clean & has a nice outdoor terrace though being in a mall there really isn't a view but it's nice to be outside if you like.

Big negatives.

1- if you accept your baked pastries & such to be squished into a bag the bag is free. BUT, if you prefer to preserve the structural integrity of your baked goods or present them as a gift perhaps, then the company will CHARGE you extra for the box. Now to be clear, the charge in slightly under $0.50, cents which is negligible- however, their pricing is not on the cheap side & actually on the higher end of the pricing spectrum. Given their pricing one should expect that like as most other pastry/bakeries do include a box without additional charge.

2- the display where the croissants are along with the chocolatine etc. I noticed many flies inside & sitting on food. I told the server about this & her reply was that there is nothing that they can do about this & that they are aware of this. I was completely shocked given the laws that exist to prevent contamination of various forms in a bakery where this area is covered to prevent this type of issue.

I venture to purchase three types of pastry & specifically selected the ones place atop of instead on the bottom area where all the bugs were gathered - my hope is that they don't get at from the top & prefer the warmer area that the staff can't do anything to prevent this from happening - safe haven status if you will.

As far as taste, texture, quality versus price (value), & how it fares to its completion - very average. The pastries that should normally have some'gooey' factor were just about non existent & in addition to the the cinnamon style bun/brioche lacked sufficient cinnamon'goo' as well lacked the lacing of the most desired white icing.

As for the others they too were on the border of dryness & happily to coffee aided in making it easier to consumer.

I personally would not come back again as there is simply nothing here worth noting; nothing special, nothing incredible, & service was lack lustre at best. Servers lacked personality, friendliness, care & attention that one should expect from an upper end priced pastry / bakery.

This place shows various promotions when purchasing more than one of an item as well as others, thus appearing to show discounted value. But the reality is their base pricing being at the high end only bring their discounted price to a more competitive price point as opposed to an actual real deal on the price.

I don't know about their other items such as sandwiches but I can say that the sandwiches appears in the display & at best, mediocre as they too lacked any appearance of being appetizing & barely showed any of the ingredients inside the sandwiches.

Their prices individual portions of cakes & such were of small portions & also priced high given their size & appearance. Maybe one would argue that it's not size it's quality - but we all know that'size does matter'.

In short, not a place for a repeat visit or to recommend. You can have far more better experiences at many other places
