Whenever I walk into Bossa it's always so crowded, but not the kind that makes you feel like the atmosphere is stuffy & uncomfortable. No, it feels like a nice family reunion, those where you just can't wait for the food to be served, where everyone carries a smile & a certain joie de vivre & you know you'll go back home feeling full of joy, but definitely also full from the delicious food.
This time around, we got a Philly & the sandwich of the month (which is something I highly recommend people to try, no matter the month). The granita is also to die for, it's so perfect, cool, not to sweet or sour, just perfect for a hot summer day.
The staff were super nice & always willing to help, recommending those who didn't know what to pick chose a perfect sandwich for them. The guy with the two stud earrings was particularly thoughtful. When I asked for a bag, he offered the pack the sandwiches along with the other things I was carrying, so thank you!??If you go, please get the sandwich of the month & a granita, I promise won't regret it.
Well there are aloof shop's like this in montreal, but this one is worth the detour to verdun. I've been wanting to go for months & im glad i did, but mad at myself for taking so long because I've missed out. Ive never had a fresher sandwich....sorry'gourmet' sandwich like this. The bread was super fresh ingredients crisp & quality. Understand one thing they know what they are doing some don't disrespect the sandwich by taking stuff out & changing it up because they know what they are doing. Service was top notch they were super busy when I came in & there was no stress serving you with a smile, small talk & invited me to come back.....ant trust me I will cant wait to try the other sandwich. Ps make sure you are hungry because the sandwiches are not skimpy.
It was so crowded in there that I dont want to make it worse by posting how good these sandwiches are.
Fantastic sandwiches, not much seating inside but during the summer they have seats outside on the street, counter style takeout.
My first time going to Bossa was so good, my expectations for the second time were set pretty high. Unfortunately the second time did not meet my expectations.
I like steak sandwiches so I tried the cheese steak. It had so much black pepper, it should've been called the black pepper steak sandwich (or at least add black pepper into the description). It also barely had any onions, so it was basically all meat (great if you're a meat lover). I was expecting it to be better considering their other sandwiches are so good.
To add insult to injury, there was no hand soap in the bathroom (dispenser was empty).
Lastly, I cannot stress enough ordering online in advance. Especially on a weekend.
My only wish (& this is for every Bossa I've been to) is that they find a way to be more efficient. From the time you order until the time you have your sandwich is just too long. It shouldn't routinely take 10 minutes to make a sandwich.
Aside from that, the sandwiches are a delicacy. Some of the best I've ever had. The porchetta is absolutely to die for.
We've always loved going to Bossa for their sandwiches! The ingredients are fresh, the portions are generous, & every sandwich is packed with flavor. There's often a long line, but it moves quickly & is always worth the wait. The staff are friendly & it's one of those places we find ourselves coming back to again & again. Easily one of our favourite sandwich spots in Montreal!
