indian(33) chicken(22) butter chicken(14) dishes(13) recommend(12) lamb(11) price(11) naan(10) thali(10) tasty(8) fresh(8) quality(8)I ordered the lamb korma & the pulao rice on Uber Eats, it was extraordinary!! It arrived so hot that I didn't even need to reheat it (I like 10-15 mins away) & the lamb just melts in your mouth. I've ordered from here many times before & I've never been disappointed. Try out the pulao rice instead of white rice with your dish, it's my favourite!!
Best food in montreal 😋 must try butter chicken & lamb karma & garlic nan bread everything was so amazing
After having eaten at (& been very impressed by) the Bombay Mahal Parc-Ex location earlier this weekend, I thought I'd give the NDG location a try as I live in the neighbourhood & would love to find a local Indian restaurant of similar quality.
I ordered the chicken vindaloo along with steamed rice, naan, & an appetizer of lentil dhal. The first thing I noticed was the prices punched in by the staff member were much higher than what was advertised on their website. When I mentioned this he altered the price, though the total was still more than if I had simply ordered on Uber Eats for pick-up. I am not sure if this was an honest mistake, or a blatant attempt at an upcharge, but it certainly wasn't the best way to start my dining experience. If the chicken vindaloo is indeed $16, the $12 listing on the website should be updated.
The food arrived quickly & the table service was fine. The inclusion of a free bottle of water & disappointingly bland vindaloo cannot help but lead me to suspect that I might have received the'Gora version' of the dish. I include this in my review in case anyone else with a light complexion likes their vindaloo spicy & visits this restaurant... just be sure to ask for the full spice when ordering.
I'm not normally one to fuss about atmosphere, but in comparison to the Parc-Ex location I feel compelled to mention it. While that spot is bright, bustling, & clean. This location had uncleared tables, somewhat dour staff, & a generally uncaring vibe.
With several other Indian restaurants within walking distance on Sherbrooke, unfortunately my search for one to visit consistently as a local will have to continue.
I went there recently, & is now one of my top spot ! Staff was kind & food was amazing ! Thank you so much
I ordered the Seekh Thali & Non-Veg Thali, but the food didn't meet my expectations. The seekhs were too dry & just spicy without any real flavor. There were no onions or salad served, which is unusual for this kind of meal.
The atmosphere wasn't great either. It was uncomfortable seeing Uber drivers not being treated well while they waited for orders, & I found it shocking that there were no hand sanitizers available anywhere, especially in a food establishment. Cleanliness & a welcoming vibe are just as important as the food, & unfortunately, this place fell short on all fronts.
Ordered uber, it was so saltyyyyy couldn't eat the bahji oignon! Even their rice was salty & VERY oily (it was a lake of oil at the bottom pf the container). Very disappointing!
Palak paneer was ok but sooo oily. Would not recommend.
Best indian food in montreal hands down must try & must go at least one time the garlic naan, chicken chilli ,butter chicken & lamb korma top tier so good & chicken biryani is the BEST
I love this restaurant, it is like my second home ❤? the workers are the sweetest
Their service is quite poor, & it took a long time for the food to be prepared. Compared to the Indian restaurants nearby, their overall quality is noticeably lower. This is, of course, my personal opinion based on my own experience.
Best Indian food ever!!!One of my favourite places for sure!!!All their dishes are so delicious!! Definitely a go to spot in mtl. I've always left feeling more than satisfied & with a stomach full of good food. Love the workers as well:)
Delicious!!! will be coming back again & again. Everything is so good, love the lentils, chickpeas, cauliflower, butter chicken, lamb etc everything is excellent & the sweetest, lovely people :)
Very good priced Talis for lunch, & they were delicious! Perfect comfort food for a cold winter day. Highly recommend for Indian food lovers.
