I have been going to Bofinger since it opened in 2007 & I love everything on the menu. My favourite meal are the smoked pork ribs with honey barbecue sauce 😋. I have had southern barbecue in many different cities & these are by far the best I have ever had. The service is also impeccable, Amir is one of the friendliest people I have met & takes great pride in his work! 10/10

If this place ever shuts down, I will personally never eat BBQ again. They've got it right with the Cuban Sandwich with Alabama sauce , its my little treat after a long week. They only place I trust with my pulled pork craving
Lovely smoked ribs with just the right amount of sauce. Loved it. Traditional texas style & it fell off the bone. Loved the crust on the ribs so flavorful

Had the brisket, husband had the pulled pork & MIL had the chilli & Mac & Cheese & we were all too busy eating to even have a conversation. The Brisket was so darn good, I was bursting at the seams but had to finish it because it was just too good. Fresh, great seasonings, delicious sauce, melt in the mouth kind of meat. The house beer was inexpensive but good, & the service was great. I can't wait to be hungry again so I can get more food.
Southern BBQ is an uncommon find in this city. Bofinger is going head-to-head with my current favorite, Diablo in the Plateau. I went for the chicken & rib combo with a mac n cheese. Every single part of the meal was expertly prepared. The Texas BBQ sauce was smoky, a lil sweet & bold as it should be. It worked almost equally perfect on both meats, with slight edge to the ribs. The ribs were huge & so tender, impressive quality. The plate was reasonably priced considering both quality & quantity. The man at the counter provided good service as well. The interior is well decorated to suit the cuisine & provide a well-rounded experience.
Was skeptical of barbecue here in Montreal but I was pleasantly surprised. If you want a taste of American barbecue, give this place a shot. Staff are welcoming & friendly.
A Traumatic Encounter with Culinary Excellence at Bofinger BBQ
Let me preface this by saying, if you value mediocrity, if you cherish the bland, & if your palate recoils at the mere suggestion of genuine flavor, then for the love of all that is unspectacular, DO NOT go to Bofinger BBQ in Montreal.
Consider yourselves warned. My recent visit was nothing short of an assault on my carefully cultivated apathy towards barbecue. I went in expecting the usual, the forgettable, the'it'll do.' What I received was a gastronomic intervention I didn't ask for & am now, infuriatingly, grateful for.
First, the barbecue ribs. Oh, the utter gall of these ribs! They were so ludicrously tender, so shamelessly falling off the bone, that one wonders if they've bribed the laws of physics. Each bite was a decadent, smoky whisper of perfection, drenched in a sauce that had no business being so profoundly balanced - sweet, tangy, with just enough of a kick to remind you that your taste buds are, in fact, alive & currently being exploited for pleasure. It was an insult to every dry, chewy rib I've ever reluctantly consumed.
& the French fries? Preposterous! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, & seasoned with such devilish precision that they rendered ketchup entirely redundant. Who needs a condiment when the fry itself is a masterpiece? It's almost offensive in its simplicity & flawless execution.
Then there was the mac & cheese. This wasn't just mac & cheese; it was a creamy, cheesy, carb-laden conspiracy against willpower. Rich, comforting, & dangerously addictive, it clung to every noodle with an unapologetic intensity. It's the kind of side dish that actively tries to sabotage your main course by being equally, if not more, compelling. A true villain, disguised as comfort food.
& finally, the chicken. Juicy, flavorful, with skin that boasted an almost criminal char. It wasn't merely cooked; it was transformed. Each piece was a testament to proper seasoning & masterful grilling, forcing me to confront the harsh reality that I may never look at a rotisserie chicken the same way again.
In conclusion, Bofinger BBQ is a menace. It dares to serve food that is genuinely, unequivocally delicious, thereby raising the bar to an uncomfortably high level. If you enjoy your culinary experiences to be just'fine' or'decent,' then absolutely, unequivocally, avoid Bofinger. You've been warned: your expectations for good barbecue will be irrevocably ruined.

Just finished a plate of my go to Chicken Wings here.
Only issue is I love them so much I always order them & end up too full to try anything else. Lol.
Everything looks & smells tasty. One day I'll need to give up the wings & broaden my horizon.
So, I'm giving this 4 stars as a courtesy because I loved the people working here. But being honest, the food was really poorly prepared. The burger was extremely dry & flavorless, & the fries were covered with so much salt that we couldn't eat them. The pork had a very watery sauce & felt also overcooked. The cook here really just needs to season & cook with more carefulness.
We come here regularly for the amazing food & service. Our go-to order is the naturally smoked beef ribs with fries (which are seriously amazing) & a house salad. This time, we also tried the brisket poutine-& it did not disappoint!
The food is always fresh, delicious, & made with care. I have a lot of food sensitivities, & you'd think BBQ might be a challenge-but here, everything feels clean, comforting, & satisfying.
Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a casual place to enjoy truly great food!
