About

Bistrot de Venise emphasizes traditional pizza craftsmanship through the use of hand-stretched dough and high-quality artisanal toppings. The kitchen focuses on achieving a perfectly blistered crust in a high-temperature oven, ensuring a distinctively crisp texture that supports balanced flavor profiles. Fresh ingredients such as buffalo mozzarella, vine-ripened tomatoes, and imported cured meats define the core menu selections. The interior aesthetic reflects a utilitarian approach designed to keep the focus entirely on the culinary product being served. Patrons encounter a straightforward environment where the preparation methods prioritize consistency and technical execution over decorative excess. Every menu item undergoes a rigorous selection process to ensure that each component contributes to the overall structural integrity and palate appeal of the final dish.

Bistrot de Venise is a great venue for both lunch & dinner. Located centrally in Calle Fabbri & a short walk from Piazza San Marco, the bistro is situated on a small canal complete with passing gondolas. For a quick lunch I had an excellent pasta dish inside the bistro with its lovely interior - a gondolier was lunching at the adjacent table which inadvertently added to the Venetian ambience. I subsequently dined outside for a relaxed evening meal - I ordered a traditional Venetian dish of eel followed by a delicate cheesecake dessert crafted into the shape of a rosebud. All food was delicious & beautifully presented. The service was attentive with helpful wine recommendations. I don't take photos of food or eating venues, but I regret not having my mobile phone at hand with which to take some images! My two meals at Bistrot de Venise were the best & most memorable in 7 weeks of travel throughout Italy. Thoroughly recommended for quality dining.

Beautiful dinner experience at this fine dinning restaurant. My husband & I had a lovely dinner here. The sommelier helped us pick a nice bottle of wine for our meal. Our waiter provided excellent recommendations from the menu. I had a shrimp appetizer, shrimp pasta, & lamb. Each dish was excellent & unique. My husband had caprese, ravioli, fowl. I also had mousse for dessert.

Service was excellent, when we entered we were thankful for the A/C. As we waited for our seat we had nice small talk with the friendly & inviting bartender. After sitting there were 2 servers helping us both very informed about everything on the menu. One gentleman that said he is a full blooded Venetian told us many interesting pieces of information about the dishes & wine. They all had a very inviting nature to them. Woman's bathroom had complimentary toiletries.

Now for the food, we had a lovely bottle of wine. The Chianti 22 I believe. Was recommended to me after I said I like a dry wine with tannins but crisp & it was exactly that & more!

Creamed cod was very light, ravioli was flavorful & unique the almonds were a touch I wasn't sure of but the dish thrives with it.

For the linguine. We are typically not red sauce fans because they can we sweet but the hot oil it comes with balances it out nicely.

The only reason the food Isn't 5 stars is because of the servings & price ratio.

Truly excellent service, wine & food. Perfect location sitting on a quiet side street near a canal with gondolas floating past.

Perfect dinner, amazing food Davide was our server, he us also a sommelier, the wine pairings were fabulous. My wife is vegetarian & gluten free, they went out of the way to make her experience Perfect. A must try if you are in Venice. Their wine cellar is very deep with a lot if choice.

Excellent food & service. Portions are generous. Wine selection is a bit limiting & French wine is a bit overpriced. A pleasant dinner experience overall.

This is a place to go if you want good (slightly unusual) food & excellent service. I dined solo & I chose to have a pasta course & a meat course… & I was too full to have dessert. The lamb gnocchi was good. The beef filet & Caesar course wasn't my favorite… there was too much sauce going on or somehow combined the ingredients just tasted like mustard. Lettuce soaked with mustard. Whatever they are doing is drowning the taste of the lettuce. Their bread & petit fours were excellent. Amouse bouche of rice & peas was not much flavor. The wine was excellent. I would pass this restaurant recommendation on to friends who are coming to Venice. It's a good experience overall.

I went to Bistrot de Venise for a truly special, authentic Venetian meal. My group was seated right next to a window where we could watch the gondolas pass outside - it was so magical to watch! I started with a Bistrot de Venise spritz that was one of the best I had in Venice. We then ordered the historical tasting menu that had incredible dishes, & I highly recommend ordering this menu with its wine pairings. The sommelier, Nicola, was incredible & explained to us with great passion & detail each pairing. Every course was delicious & it was so fun to eat recipes that were traditional & authentic. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to add a culinary highlight on a trip to Venice!

We ate here last minute after asking our hotel front desk for recommendations. We ended up having a 3 hour tour of Italy's food history & culture. Paolo Fragiacomo served us & provided attentive service. You can sense his passion for food & Its connection to the people. Too many tourists have made Venice an outdoor air mall & are passing by chain restaurants the zombie cruise industry has created. Instead why not invest in learning about Venetian food & wine? Yes it's a bit on the pricier side but you only live once & they help local artists & I sensed want to teach patrons about local food & drink. We ended up having 3 courses & buying the beautiful glass water bottles & olive oil. He even gave us a beautiful umbrella for 2 to keep after since it was raining outside. Ended our trip with one of the most memorable dining experience I've had.
