Located centrally in Calle Fabbri & a short walk from Piazza San Marco, the bistro is situated on a small canal complete with passing gondolas. For a quick lunch I had an excellent pasta dish inside the bistro with its lovely interior - a gondolier was lunching at the adjacent table which inadvertently added to the Venetian ambience. I subsequently dined outside for a relaxed evening meal - I ordered a traditional Venetian dish of eel followed by a delicate cheesecake dessert crafted into the shape of a rosebud. All food was delicious & beautifully presented. The service was attentive with helpful wine recommendations. I don't take photos of food or eating venues, but I regret not having my mobile phone at hand with which to take some images! My two meals at Bistrot de Venise were the best & most memorable in 7 weeks of travel throughout Italy. Thoroughly recommended for quality dining.
Wonderful experience. Amazing food, & I can't say enough about the service. Highly recommended.
Service was excellent, when we entered we were thankful for the A/C. As we waited for our seat we had nice small talk with the friendly & inviting bartender. After sitting there were 2 servers helping us both very informed about everything on the menu. One gentleman that said he is a full blooded Venetian told us many interesting pieces of information about the dishes & wine. They all had a very inviting nature to them. Woman's bathroom had complimentary toiletries.
Now for the food, we had a lovely bottle of wine. The Chianti 22 I believe. Was recommended to me after I said I like a dry wine with tannins but crisp & it was exactly that & more!
Creamed cod was very light, ravioli was flavorful & unique the almonds were a touch I wasn't sure of but the dish thrives with it.
For the linguine. We are typically not red sauce fans because they can we sweet but the hot oil it comes with balances it out nicely.
The only reason the food Isn't 5 stars is because of the servings & price ratio.
Dara & Alvie made our dinner an amazing experience! The food was the best meal of our visit. Highly recommended for an amazing experience!!!!
Our dining experience in Venice was absolutely unforgettable! The food was exceptional-every dish was fresh, authentic, & beautifully prepared. The atmosphere was warm & welcoming, making it the perfect place to enjoy an incredible meal.
What truly made our visit outstanding was the exceptional service from Dara & Alvise. They were attentive, friendly, & went above & beyond to make us feel welcome. Their recommendations were excellent, & their genuine hospitality made our evening even more special.
If you're visiting Venice, this restaurant is a must-visit. Delicious food, outstanding service, & an unforgettable experience. We can't wait to come back. Highly recommended!
After proposing to my fiancée in Venice, I brought her to Bistrot de Venise for our celebration dinner, & it was the perfect choice for such a special evening. The atmosphere was elegant, romantic & refined, with a real sense of history & character. The tasting menu was genuinely excellent, well-balanced & memorable from start to finish. Service was attentive & professional without feeling overwhelming. A beautiful restaurant for a meaningful dinner in Venice; I would gladly recommend it for a special occasion.
Très bel établissement, plats raffinés & très savoureux. Le personnel est très dévoué & professionnel. A recommander lors d'un passage à Venise. Nous reviendrons !
We stopped by Bistrot de Venise for lunch on our first day in Venice. We were able to walk in right in around 1pm on a Friday. They have a regular menu & a lighter lunch menu. We elected to eat from the lighter lunch menu. We ordered the classic cabonara, grilled prawns on a pesto/basil rice, & the beef cheek. The portions were still very large for a lighter lunch menu. The beef cheek was massive & I was only able to eat about half of it. Every dish was packed with flavor & plated beautifully. Each dish is a shareable size for couples. We left completely full & happy. I'd highly recommend coming here for lunch or dinner.
The food sucks
The starter with the green beans was not fully cooked, which made me throw up right after I had it. The cuttlefish noodle is the worst which tasted like sea water-very salty & fishy. All the other dishes are nothing special but much more expensive than other restaurants. The dessert was too sweet.
I really recommend that anyone that used to Asian food never go to this restaurant. The taste is so weird!!!
Plats savoureux, surtout les poissons dans les entrées.
Légèrement moins convaincue par les desserts (mais seulement par goûts personnels).
Service impeccable.
Je recommande vivement !
