Went to Bistro Nola for Breakfast on Sunday. I didnt have reservations. I sat at the bar. The food was very very good. I was surprised they didnt have fresh squeezed orange juice, & charged $7 for Tropicana OJ, but everything else was stellar. I had the Le Richard. 2 pieces of Fried chicken on French toast...a poached egg on a corn bread muffin, & some ham underneath the muffin, with home fries. Very good. Cooked perfectly.
They have a very well stocked bar too, good scotches & rums. I'm surprised Kalhua for their coffee liqueur, vs Barista from Montreal, very coffee forward coffee liqueur, vs Kalhua. But just offering suggestions.
I absolutely enjoyed every single meal at Bistro Nolah! First of all, I had no reservations & was assuming I could just show up & be seated as it might not be too busy on a Sunday night but to my surprise it was full! Regardless & irrespective of the fact that I was not expecting them to accommodate us, they were able to make it work! The service was great & the food was even better. Everything was so hot & fresh when it came out. We started with the Mac & cheese, fried chicken, jambalaya & gumbo. Everything was delicious, I found the gumbo a little strong on flavour for my preference but the fried chicken was decadent. Perfect amount of chicken to batter ratio, very fresh & delicious honey glaze to top it off. For mains, we went with the jerk shrimp grits & braised short ribs. Both were delicious! Lastly, for dessert we enjoyed the bread pudding which was also delicious! Overall I would go back over & over just for the amazing food & service. It was beautiful to experience a little bit of NOLA here in Montreal!
The best experience I have had at a restaurant in a long while. The staff were very knowledgeable & friendly, the food was incredible!! Hats off to Bistro Nolah !! Will definitely be back !
We visited Bistro Nolah & the experience was truly unforgettable. Everything exceeded our expectations-the food was exceptional, the service was warm & attentive, & the atmosphere made the whole meal even more enjoyable. A wonderful place to dine & definitely worth a visit.
Our brunch at Bistro Nolah was honestly amazing. We ate at the bar & every dish hit perfectly. We went for the surf & turf Benedict with salmon & beef & the Southern Breakfast. It was unreal. Everything tasted very flavourful, looked great, & made the whole meal unforgettable. We felt extremely welcomed & big thanks to Dominic for the great customer service & hospitality.
We've been to Bistro Nolah many times & it never disappoints! The service is always excellent - the staff take the time to explain the menu & make great recommendations. The appetizers are especially delicious - we love the mac & cheese & hush puppies! The ambiance is warm & romantic, perfect for date nights or special occasions. Highly recommend!

This Bistro is top notch , as a former chef & I can spot a good place. Our server was very well knowledged in all the menu items. The black& white photographs on there wall of New Orleans were a nice touch to the great food & excellent service . In my experience restaurant owners must be hands on & in this establishment 3 of the owners work daily. I spoke with Richard ( 1 owner) who was expediting the food , congratulating him & the staff for excellent meal & 5 star service.
My husband & I went to Bistro Nolah for our anniversary dinner. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're in a different place. The atmosphere is so zen, the decor brings you to New Orleans.
We have the grits & jambalaya as appetizers. I always wanted to try grits, but never had the chance. These grits will make you slap your mama. They are tasty, smooth & full of flavour. I could eat it morning, noon & dinner, with snacks in between. If I could, I would've sneaked in the kitchen to take the rest of it home.
The jambalaya has the perfect blend of spice & flavour.
Main course: brisket & catfish. The brisket comes with mashed potatoes & mushrooms, surrounded by two different types of sauce.
The catfish lays on a bed of mashed sweet potatoes.
Again, both dishes are packed with flavour & a right size portions.
Desserts: chocolate torte & bread pudding. One word: Decadent.
What I loved about the menu is the amount of gluten free items.
The food is well worth the price. Bravo Chef Richard! We will definitely return for brunch.
Absolutely outstanding experience at Bistro Nolah! The food was exceptional-flavourful, beautifully presented, & perfect for sharing. The staff were warm, attentive, & genuinely pleasant throughout our visit. We sat on the patio, which was gorgeous & cozy with its twinkle lights adding the perfect touch. Every appetizer we tried was delicious-this place truly delivers on all fronts. Highly recommend!
Amazing service, delicious food & easy parking in parking lot! I would recommend Bistro Nolah for southern dishes !! I came yesterday with a friend for the first time, & we tried the hush puppies, peach &beets salad as appetizers. Our main dish was the blackened Catfish (my favorite & good spices!!) & the Braised short ribs (Tender & tasty) both were very good! Comming back soon :)
Decided to have a spontaneous night, drove here at 9:30 on a Friday night with my gf, forgot my Bistro Nolah gift card I received from my mom last Christmas, drove home to pick it up, drove back, just to be greeted unfortunately news by a waiter that their kitchen is closed & are only serving desserts & drinks at this time.
Ended up leaving & going elsewhere that also has indicated on google, closing time at 11:00pm (the same time as Nolah) but the kitchen was still serving food.
If I could reimburse a gift card & give the money back to my mom, I would
Always a hit at Bistro Nolah! The food deserved a standing ovation. I had the lamb shank with oyster mushrooms & my wife had the seared scallops on a bed of sweet potatoe mash & pearled couscous. Service was also impeccable. Definitely recommend!
Decided to try bistro nolah, they defied my already high expectations, the hush puppies were delicious, but the cat fish was incredible, paired with the incredible service of our server Kelsey, would definitely sat it was a great experience I cannot wait to have again, thank you Bistro Nolah!
Our brunch at Bistro Nolah was an absolute delight, enjoyed on their charming outdoor terrace. The dishes were nothing short of extraordinary-we indulged in the exquisite surf & turf Benedict & the perfectly crisp fried chicken Benedict, complemented by a half plate of ham egg Benedict & a decadent side of praline bacon. Each bite showcased high-quality ingredients & impeccable presentation, making for an unforgettable experience.
We visited Bistro Nolah, a refined restaurant inspired by the rich & soulful cuisine of New Orleans, Louisiana. The name'Nolah' is a nod to NOLA (New Orleans, LA), & it's a fitting tribute-the flavors truly capture the spirit of the region.
The space is small & cozy, with a vibrant, energetic atmosphere. The lively background noise adds to the charm, creating a warm & animated dining experience without feeling overwhelming.
The menu is compact, but each dish is thoughtfully crafted. We began with the jambalaya arancini, served with a deliciously spicy sauce that lingered pleasantly on the palate.
For our main courses, we had the smoked brisket-exceptionally tender & beautifully seasoned-& the shrimp & grits. The shrimp had a bold, spicy profile, perfectly balanced by the smooth, comforting grit. Each bite was both satisfying & refined.
To finish, we shared the banana cheesecake flambéed with Jack Daniel's-rich, indulgent, & the perfect finale.
Bistro Nolah offers a more upscale dining experience, & while it comes at a higher cost, the quality, attention to detail, & overall atmosphere make it well worth it. I would gladly recommend it for a special occasion or a memorable evening out.
I had my wedding dinner here on May 22 2025. Customer service is A1! We dealt with Christopher Eamer from a year in advance to plan our day, & he graciously answered all my many questions! 😊 Christopher provided options in advance for people with food sensitivities. They allowed us to decorate the tables before we arrrived, & were so accommodating in allowing my guests & I to enter the restaurant an hour before their actual opening time in order for us to have some private time with our guests. 🙏 The waiters were very friendly & listened to our needs. The food was amazing! We had a personalized menu & everybody enjoyed what they ordered. Those hush puppies were unexpected & the bomb!! 😋. Guests from the US have promised to go back there on their next visit to Montreal. Thanks for everything Bistro Nolah!!
Six (6) of us had wonderful & very tasty'New Orleans-Style Cuisine' dishes at Bistro Nolah. We were immediately seated for our 20h30 reservation; the earliest we could get for our larger group. Our server greeted us & brought menu's, the wine list, filled our water glasses & spent a few minutes explaining some of the entrees & then brought us hot buns with a slightly spiced spread all within minutes of us being seated & allowing us a few minutes to review the menus & the chalk board. Those of us who ordered salads found them ample & plenty for two to share. Dishes ordered ranged from mussels, lamb shank, creole shrimp, fried chicken & the braised short ribs. Everyone said their meals were delish. Most definitely a return visit is on our'Menu'!
Our second visit to Bistro Nolah was just as great as our first, if not better! This restaurant has a very warm & inviting atmosphere! The food is delicious, packed with flavour! You can taste the love in every dish! Friendly & knowledgeable wait staff! We'll definitely will go back!
Bistro Nolah has been a favorite of ours on the West Island for years, & it continues to impress us with every visit. The Louisiana-inspired dishes are a standout, full of bold flavors & unique twists that you won't find anywhere else. The quality & freshness of the ingredients are always top-notch, & the staff make you feel right at home with their warm & attentive service. This place is a true gem-consistently delivering an exceptional dining experience. Highly recommend if you're craving something special!
