Had a delicious supper with my celiac wife & the experience was wonderful. Mathieu & his team made sure we had gluten friendly options & the choices were delicious. Sweat potato cream was something I've never had before & didn't regret it. Duck & shrimp was really good. Really good, nice place & super friendly staff. You can't go wrong
Excellent!!!! The server, Michael took time to explain the menu & was amazing at providing us with suggestions. The food was 10 out of ten. I had the crab cake, gumbo shrimp & smoke brisket.

We spent over 300$ & this was for a birthday party. We brought a birthday cake & they didn't accept it. If you have kids & want to enjoy a cake don't go to this place. No high chair & the owner Chris didn't tell us about this. Bad communication & will never go again. Went next door to ICY VIBES & the owner accepted us cutting the birthday cake. Will definitely be going back to them.
George, thank you for your feedback. We need to clarify several important points. When the reservation was made, we were not informed that this was a birthday party, that you intended to bring an outside cake, or that a high chair would be required. Bistro Nolah does not allow outside food of any kind, including birthday cakes, due to our food permit and food-safety obligations. We also do not have high chairs available, and we always inform guests of this when they mention they will be bringing young children. The information you are now criticizing us for was not provided at the time of booking. Had these details been communicated in advance, our policies would have been clearly explained before your visit. It is not accurate to hold the restaurant responsible for expectations or special requests that were never communicated when the reservation was made. We stand by our policies and the way this situation was handled.
We absolutely enjoyed Bistro Nolah, one of the best restaurants that we have tasted in a long time. We had Hush Puppies (Cornbread) & Fried Chicken for appetizers. The fried chicken was really flavourful down to the very fibre of the chicken. For dinner, we ordered the shrimp & grits, pan seared scallops (special on the menu) & smoked brisket. & for dessert, we had the beignets (the best donuts that you will ever taste in your whole life). Every single course of the meal which they make completely in house (including the bread & the special butter) was absolutely gorgeous & extremely flavourful that wakes up every single taste bud in your palate.
& our waiter Chris was very attentive & fantastic to us. One of our children has Celiac disease & cannot eat gluten so he could not eat any of the appetizers except one (Chris was also very knowledgeable about the gluten & the non-gluten menu choices as well btw.) & had to wait for his main dish which took a bit of time to arrive as the night was quite busy. When we asked if our child can have his plate first before the rest of us, Christ promptly went to the kitchen & got our child's dish to serve it to our child. & he even remembered that my child might not be used to the spiciness in the dish & they set the spicy sauce on the side so not to make the dish too spicy for him. My child ordered the Blackened Catfish & it was so delicious my child finished every single morsel on his plate even the vegetables asparagus. He finished the food so fast we couldn't even take a photo. :)
We are so glad that we found this place which is nestled away in a small plaza. It's one of our most enjoyable gastronomical experience inside a beautifully decorated dining room. It's our first time visiting this restaurant & tasting Southern comfort food New Orleans. We will definitely be back.
This place has been on my radar for years, finally had the chance to visit with my wife last night. Great service, our waiter was very friendly & knowledgeable of all the dishes. The food itself brought us back to New Orleans when we visited on a foodie tour, very flavourful, the gumbo had a solid kick which I loved. Not pictured was the mac & cheese & the fried chicken which was so good, we forgot to take a photo! My only recommendation would be to bring some charcoal bbq oysters to the menu & I'd be there every other day. We'll be back for brunch!
I took my mother here & she enjoyed every bite. The food is exceptional. Not much on the menu but every item is prepared with care & packed with flavour. A charming place!
I'd been wanting to try this place for a while, & I finally got a few ladies together to celebrate a special occasion. The restaurant was cozy, & the ambiance had the charming bistro feel I was expecting. The only downside was that the tables were a little small, which made things feel a bit cramped.
The food was very good, & while the portions were satisfying, I would recommend ordering both an appetizer & a main course for the full experience. I was very happy with my choices-the lobster roll & the prime rib were both delicious. Overall, it was a great dining experience, & I'd definitely come back.
Came here for brunch, the staff is kind & warm at welcoming their guests. Got the 2 most popular dishes which are southern breakfast & the Richard. If you want something like packed with re-fined flavours, get the southern breakfast which i rate 9.7/10. The Richard was great as well with a bit of everything 9/10. I would definitely come back to try more dishes! The vibe of the restaurant is super nice too.
