After reading & hearing so many outstanding reviews for this restaurant, I had high expectations going in. However, I didn't love my experience, & will likely not be back.
To start, our waiter was lovely, but relatively absent throughout the evening. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed that night, but the restaurant was only about 60% full & we had difficulty flagging our waiter down.
The salted caramel espresso martini I had was amazing, but unfortunately the rest of the food that followed was lackluster. We ordered the arugula salad, truffle fries, & octopus to start - everything was simply'ok' - except for the octopus which was inedible & covered in some sort of congealed fat. The restaurant kindly covered 50% of the dish because they noticed we hadn't touched it, which was super appreciated!
For our mains, I ordered the Gamberi Fra'Diavolo (spicy shrimp & spaghetti) & my fiancé ordered the pasta with lamb meat sauce, & both were solid, but we had to wait over 1.5 hours to receive our dishes. Again, the restaurant was not even close to capacity, & not once did our server come by & acknowledge the wait time.
By the time we finished our mains, we just wanted to leave & not risk ordering dessert/coffee for fear of how long it would take. I wish we had had a more positive experience to report, but for the price - we did not find the service/food adequate.
Maybe the restaurant was just having an off night, but there are no shortage of amazing Italian spots in Montreal which we would recommend instead of Bis!
Paloma was outstanding! She looked after us with great attention to detail. She was personable, helpful, & paid a lot of attention to ensuring the pace of the meal was what we wanted. I would definitely come again, in part because the ambiance was romantic & our table was perfect, , but mostly because of the amazing Paloma!

Our company had a dinner here last night & it was outstanding! The food was beyond phenomenal & the service was absolutely top notch. Our whole team had a fantastic time, & we're so grateful to the BIS team for making the evening truly memorable. Highly recommend & we'll be back for sure!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Bis Restorante! Very enjoyable atmosphere & the food is flavourful, a great medley of fine cuisine & comfort food. The service was outstanding with great recommendations from the servers. Definitely a place i would recommend whenever i have to say "I know a good italian place if you're hungry".

This was probably the best dining experience we had during our visit to Montreal. The food was outstanding & the service was great. I love the intimate ambiance. I will most definitely visit Bis again when next I am in Montreal.

From the time you walk in & walk out the service was outstanding. Checking in coat, taken to seat & service from every member of the team. Not saying that food was outstanding. Leaving you felt like part of the family. Will return with friends
Bis was SUPERB as usual. Everything perfect. Service & food were outstanding.
