Cool venue. Food average. Karaage - deep fried, oil could be fresher Okonomayaki - same sauce as the Takoyaki - enjoyed the bonito flakes Takoyaki - tasty & hot Rice w/ Chopped Salmon & Sushi Paper Rolls - more seaweed to wrap the chopped salmon. Yes ... Rice krispies
I wish I could give this place a better rating but unfortunately cannot. We were seated at the bar before our reservation which was nice. There space at the bar between you & the next person is very limited. The food came out quickly which was also nice. The beef tataki wasn't prepared properly & made myself & my girlfriend sick afterwards where we needed to take Imodium. There was a couple tables of about 16-20 altogether who were obnoxious & very loud without any regard for the rest of the people in the restaurant yet were still served alcohol repeatedly. They should have been cut off long ago & every time they would take a sake bomb, they would do a chant & I could tell the people in the restaurant felt awkward. The washroom was disgusting with vomit & urine on the floor. I'm sure if they got all these things under control, the sky is the limit with this place.
I recently discovered biiru & I am obsessed! The food is delicious & their drinks are unique. Juliana was our server & Tony the bartender - AMAZING! Definitely coming back & can't wait to try the whole menu.
If you're seeing this review, stop scrolling, stop looking, stop debating, just go here. This is by far the most amazing place I've been to in Montreal. Aside from the incredible atmosphere with Japanese decor & cool lighting, great music, friendly staff, & good service, the food is delicious. We couldn't decide what to get, so we were offered a tasting menu, which included what felt like an infinite amount of food, each one better than the previous. Every dish was so different & tasty, never mind being such a generous size & so filling. This was the first time in 4 years my boyfriend & I have never not been able to finish the portion served. This is a must try place in Montreal, especially for the taster menu that changes day by day. Thank you Biiru!
The service was so quick. As soon as we were done a drink or a plate, we were asked how it was or if we want more. Our favourite item was the candied salmon. Although the okonomyaki & fried octopus balls were also delicious. We finished it off with the mochi cake which was also very impressive. I would 100% go back! Would recommend if you love Japanese/Asian food.
Portions are too small in my opinion, which can be fine but a dry ramen as in the photo, this is not what I expected when ordering a ramen
Server recommended two dishes per person, but finally the ratio of calories per $ is too low :( Food tasted great & was well presented. If the listing said $$$ in Google, I would not have felt deceived (but probably would have chosen another restaurant). We wanted to have a team lunch, but it was hard to hear each other over the music & other people.
Very nice atmosphere at the patio, service was very friendly & professional.
Thank you Julianna & Mike & the while team, you rock 👍👍 👍
