Bistro japonais/Izakaya "Funky & Cool" à Montréal! Le Biiru est un bistro japonais sympathique situé au centre-ville, sur la rue City Councillors, dissimulé dans l’ombre de l’église St-James, à quelques pas de la rue Ste-Catherine. Le chef se fait un plaisir de vous offrir des plats traditionnels et raffinés; vous n’avez qu’à goûter aux côtes de porc à la chair tendre et juteuse, marinées dans une sauce caramélisée. Elles fondent tout simplement dans la bouche! Les légumes tempura, cuits à point, sont également irrésistibles. Bref, le menu vous laisse bouche bée tant les spécialités sont toutes meilleures les unes que les autres. Vous y trouvez aussi une variété de délicieux tapas, idéal pour déguster en entrées! Le personnel aimable et courtois se fera un plaisir de vous accueillir, et vous promet un excellent 5 à 7 entre amis ou collègues. Venez profiter des savoureuses spécialités de ce sympathique bistro, tant apprécié de la clientèle!
Biiru apparaît comme un spot japonais fusion animé et très prisé à Montréal, où le menu dégustation, les cocktails créatifs et les plats à partager généreux impressionnent, soutenus par un service attentif et une ambiance accueillante; la nourriture est décrite comme savoureuse, bien présentée et variée, avec des plats remarqués tels que les côtes, les préparations au saumon, le takoyaki et le dessert au matcha mis en avant, tandis que certains trouvent les portions petites pour le prix, que l'endroit peut être bruyant aux heures de pointe, et que la salle peut être froide, avec quelques soucis de réservation ou de placement; la terrasse est très appréciée et l'expérience globale est mémorable et donne envie de revenir.
I went to Biiru during my trip to Montreal because my friend suggested the place. She's been there a couple of times before & liked the food so she wanted me to try it to while we're in town. It was a Thursday night & we tried to get a last minute reservation online but there's no table available for 7:30 pm on the system. But we did get lucky with walk-in though because they actually have a table available for us at the outdoor area.
We decided to order a bunch of dishes to share between the two of us & here are some of my favorites from our meal:
🍵 Matcha Matcha • 8/10
I ordered the Matcha Matcha mocktail. Nice matcha, not too strong, not too bitter, not too sweet. It has a nice earthy taste.
🍽? Korn Korokke • 7.5/10
The croquettes were nicely fried & the curry wasn't too strong.
🥟 Pork Gyoza • 8/10
Great pork gyoza. The gyoza skin wasn't too thick & the pork was flavorful.
🍽? Kaisen Don • 8/10
The Kaisen Don was pretty good. It tasted fresh & & light.
All & all, although I liked some of the dishes better than the others, the food overall was pretty good for a modern Japanese fusion izakaya spot. Service was great & the staff who waited our table was nice. The noise level at this place was pretty high since it is a drinking place.
If you're looking for a good Japanese fusion izakaya spot with great drinks menu & lively atmosphere in Montreal, this place is worth to try.
Great vibes & the food was great! Order the Ramen & Karaage. The Haru Karrage was delicious. Did not have a reservation but was able to sit immediately. Had a great time & the food & drinks were a great way to warm up!
We had an incredible time at Birru, & it was all thanks to our amazing server, Jessica! She was so attentive, friendly, & truly made the experience special. The drinks were great, but her energy & kindness made the night unforgettable. If you go, ask for Jessica-she's the best!

Nous avons passé une soirée incroyable chez Birru, & c'est en grande partie grâce à notre serveuse exceptionnelle, Jessica! Attentive, chaleureuse & pleine d'énergie, elle a rendu notre expérience vraiment spéciale. Les cocktails étaient excellents, mais c'est son service qui a tout changé. Si vous y allez, demandez Jessica-elle est fantastique!
Such a fun little tucked away izakaya right in downtown Montreal. Highly recommend the food & drinks both, & the service was great.
Karaage was delicious !
I went to Biiru with a large group of friends (over 15 people) & we had the loveliest dinner, with amazing service, waiters that were eager to help & accommodate any food restrictions & an overall impeccable vibe!
I would recommend the okonomiyaki to anyone who wants the best Japanese pancake they've ever had - truly delicious, & I couldn't get enough of it!! Will definitely be coming back to Biiru for that dish alone.
Also, special thanks to Juliana, who was an extraordinary waiter & really went out of her way to make this a great evening for everyone in our group. Her drinks were wonderful . She was kind, always smiling, super quick on her feet & just an overall ray of energy. Definitely a highlight of the dinner!

Un bar japonais avec quelques plats fusions. En général, j'ai aimé mon expérience & la nourriture servie était pas mal. Les drinks sont biens. Par contre, le staff semble être perdu (des nouveaux surement), on a attendu quand même longtemps pour la nourriture & il y a eu quelques erreurs. Néanmoins, ça reste une bonne place pour un 5@7, une date ou en groupes. Je reviendrai si je cherche un coin dans le centre-ville !

Biiru was absolutely the best! The best part was the awesome, energetic, & most welcoming bartender Juliana! I recommend sitting at the bar & watching her making delicious drinks while enjoying the ambiance. Definitely recommend to for a date night or a night in the town. Will be back very soon.
Came here for drinks & snacks on a saturday- the decor is beautiful, food is delicious, but the bartender Juliana made our night (we were seated at the bar). Will definitely be back!! Highly recommend
Charming! The food is executed perfectly. Delicious drinks too. We had ramen, gyoza, & eel skewers, each one was just right! For dessert we had a matcha cake, & it had a tangy sweet sauce, it was unlike anything I had before & we loved it.
