No rice which surprised me, but that just meant more room to eat dumplings. I think they make the dumplings to order, so it was a little slow, but I wasn't in a rush. I will be back.
TLDR; Warm & welcoming staff, good, fresh food. Worth the money.
Staff is very welcoming & friendly. They also take in account allergies. I ordered a menu item which the chef chooses a selection for me, the staff asked me if I had allergies to avoid giving me an item that would contain it. They also took in account the fact that I don't like seafood. This place was almost empty, which makes no sense in my opinion. Food is served hot & fresh. It's very good. Unironically some of the best dumplings/bao I've had in my life & I'm not exaggerating.
I ordered takeaway tonight from a spot on St-Denis in Montreal & was pleasantly surprised. I went with the large pork wonton soup (10 dumplings) & the hot & sour cucumber salad - all for $17.22, which I found very reasonable for the area.
The soup was flavorful without being too salty, & the seaweed pieces added a nice touch. The cucumber salad was also fresh & tasty, though personally, I would have preferred a lighter hand on the garlic (you'll see what I mean in the photo).
The interior of the restaurant is simple but clean. It was a quiet Tuesday evening, so the small terrace hadn't been set up, which was a bit of a letdown. That said, the service was friendly & quick - always a plus.
freshly made dumplings were tasty. Thank you. I will return with guests.
(suggestion: waterchest in the pork mix would give it an even better texture & taste) :-)
