Ouvert tous les soirs de la semaine, notre établissement émerveille les promeneurs du Vieux-Port et leur procure un second chez-soi. L'esprit du Barroco ne réside pas dans un simple élément, c'est plutôt une harmonie de plusieurs ingrédients, créant une atmosphère de bien-être pour le souper. We had the pleasure of dining at this charming restaurant, the ambiance is cozy yet elegant feel that makes you want to linger a little longer.
The staff were incredibly friendly & attentive from the moment we walked in. They made us feel genuinely welcome & went above & beyond to ensure we had everything we needed throughout the meal.
The food was absolutely delicious - beautifully presented, full of flavor, & clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Every dish we tried was a standout.
Overall, this was a wonderful experience from start to finish. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for excellent service, great food, & a lovely setting. I'll definitely be coming back!Voir plus

Came here for the late night menu special for 29$. We tried the beef tartare, the duck & the gnocchi. They were all delicious & flavorful. Definitely worth the price.

A very lovely dining experience! Made a reservation for my husband & I on a Thursday evening. The restaurant is very warm, cozy, & charming with stone walls, beamed ceilings, & filled with lovely antiques. We were seated at a cozy, corner table by the window. Our waiter was professional & personable. He was very present throughout our meal. We ordered two of their specialty cocktails, which were fantastic, & two apps (tartare & foie gras) & two entrees (duck & halibut), which were all divine. Delicious food , we had braised meat, paella, terrine, pumpkin with foie gras , they were all very good, atmosphere is cozy , not cheap but it is worth it, would like go again soonVoir plus

The braised beef was pretty good but the Butcher's cut steak was extremely bland, unseasoned, & very very fatty (1/4 of the steak was not edible). The mash potato that came with the steak was also very bland I couldnt finish it. The braised beef's sauce saved me tho I had to dip the steak in there cause it tasted like nothing for $75. Service was okay when we came in we werent greeted & had to wait for a while even though we had reservations. Service felt really rushed. Atmosphere was nice & cozy :) overall experience was okay, definitely not worth the pricetagVoir plus

This was the first place we visited in Montreal, & I'm so glad we made reservations here! The food was phenomenal. Our waiter was so charming & even made suggestions of where we should go once he knew we were on vacation. The restaurant itself is so cozy & has a very homey feeling. Very small & cozy restaurant. Great service at first. Turns out, they charged me 32$ for a Paloma drink. Really! Are we at the Ritz ? Also, they have like 4 choices of food on the menu, very limited. But seriously how can a normal basic drink as tequila & pamplemousse juice can cost as much as a gnocchi meal ? Do not waist your time. Not worth it.Voir plus

Visiting Barroco in Old Montreal was an unforgettable experience, especially thanks to their phenomenal Beef Shortribs, which was hands-down the best meal of my life. We opted for the Menu du Chef, & every dish was a delightful surprise, masterfully prepared & bursting with flavors. The ambiance of the restaurant offers a cozy yet elegant backdrop perfect for a special evening, complemented by staff who are both attentive & welcoming, making you feel right at home. Barroco is a cozy, intimate dinner restaurant with French/Euro-inspired items that are almost always a hit. The chef often has interesting specials that are worth exploring, especially if they involve red meat. My best tip would be to order a side of grilled, buttered sourdough bread (for a fee of $5), as most dishes come with a lot of sauce. The bread can be used to scoop it all up for a tasty finish.Voir plus

One of the best meals we have had, not just in Montreal (we are visiting). We did the tasting menu, which was innovative but also classic. They also offer fantastic cocktails sans alcohol (get the Pampelmouse!!). The Quebec mushrooms, paella, & the guinea hen were our favorite savory bites (as well as the brioche), & the chocolate cremeux was a beautiful (& unexpectedly nuanced) finish. Charming, cozy bistro with friendly, attentive service. My monkfish was superb, served with bacon cracklings. Hubby had the veal & a papery thin mille feuille of potatoes. Also excellent. Great selection of wines. Prices were not astronomical. The original edifice was an 150 year old stable. Old-timey lamps at every table give off a warm glow, a wild boars' head trophy & ancient stone walls make this place a keeper.Voir plus

We returned to Montreal with my adult children for Christmas & enjoyed an amazing meal & created wonder family memories & can not wait to return on our next Montreal trip. Don't miss this place. Small becomes cozy & the staff & food are the top of the game.

We didn’t have a reservation so we got a table outside which was rather cozy & cute . As appetizers we ordered the Burrata & the octopus which were ok . We felt that the raspberry vinaigrette didn’t really work with the burrata & the octopus was a bit overcooked. However as a main course we ordered the beef short ribs & a glass of red wine both were delicious & worked very well together . For dessert we got the millefeuille which was also pretty good . The food at Barroco remains the best & most consistent in the city.
& in a city like Montreal, known for its great restaurants, that says everything.
The staff is attentive & omnipresent. The inside is cozy with great lighting & spot on playlist.
I suggest the short rib. The best you will ever have, but the artic char was also amazing.
In truth, whatever you select will soon become your all-time favorite.
Start with the famous Old Fashion before moving on to the deep & well curated wine list.
Above all, Lucca, the GM at the host stand cares for guests more like family members than restaurant goers.
You will end your meal planning for your next visit as Barroco will be your go to for a world-class overall dining experience.
via LibroWe love this place & regret that we only went for a drink at the bar but ended up ordering a little bit of food which blew us away. We had a brioche with olive oil butter & a pasta dish with morels. Very simple but absolutely delicious & perfectly executed. It was our last night in Montreal so wish we could have stayed one more night so we could have a full meal. Hopefully we'll make our way back there again! The bartender made great cocktails & provided awesome service at the bar. The ambience is cozy & inviting. This place has everything we love about drinking/dining out!
via LibroSuch a little gem of a restaurant that I'm hesitant to leave a glowing review, so I may keep this not-so-secret pearl all to myself! Our server was professional & fun, not stuffy like other high end restos & took great care to work with my food allergy. The oysters were sublime as were the mignonette & sauce. We had the paella which was so flavourful! My dinner partner claimed it was better than the five he tasted in Spain! A Morgon was recommended which is now at the top of my red wine list. Truly a lovely evening in a beautiful, cozy & vibrant & relaxed atmosphere.
via LibroNice, cozy restaurant with European ambiance. We went for European food with Spanish influence. But, menu is mostly French cuisine. Not that much variety in the menu. One fish item, no lamb, mostly beef, with limited appetizers. Good wine menu though.
