The food was incredible & staff was really friendly. Just one little thing that could be better is the door at the entrance that wasn't closing completely each time it was opened by someone, so the cold air could come in. But besides that, I recommend it 100% if you want good food & that is halal.

A cute gem ✨? located a few minutes from downtown. They start you up with green tea that sets tone & cleanses your palate. We order the vermicelli grilled chicken🍲 & the Beef Pho 🍜
Everything was yummy but the dish that truly shined through was the Beef Pho🍜

Very generous portions for such a low price & the food is AMAZING! We ordered pho, skewers, & the fried chicken & they were all full of flavour & delicious. The staff is also super kind & accommodating. & did I mention that it's completely halal?! A must for all Montrealers & people visiting.
The owner is an amazing person who is very attentive to his customers needs. It's an amazing fusion that brings halal diversity to Montreal halal food scene.

J'ai récemment visité Baan Lao pour leur buffet d'iftar pendant le Ramadan, & l'expérience était très agréable. Le buffet offrait une bonne variété de plats, tous frais & bien préparés. Après une longue journée de jeûne, c'était vraiment satisfaisant de trouver des plats chauds & savoureux.
Le personnel était très accueillant & serviable, & l'ambiance du restaurant était confortable & conviviale. L'endroit est propre & bien organisé, ce qui rend le repas encore plus agréable.
Dans l'ensemble, c'est un excellent endroit pour rompre le jeûne, & le prix du buffet est très raisonnable pour la qualité & la variété proposées. Je recommande cet endroit à toute personne cherchant un bon buffet halal pour l'iftar à Montréal.
Baan Lao is a hidden gem for Asian fusion in Montréal. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, & clearly made with care. Everything we tried was well-seasoned & balanced, with generous portions that actually leave you full.
The menu has a great variety (noodles, rice dishes, grilled items, & appetizers), so there's something for everyone, whether you like comforting classics or bolder flavors. The chicken & shrimp dishes were especially delicious, & the sauces really stand out.
Another big plus is that the food is halal, which makes it an easy & reliable choice. Service was friendly & efficient, & the place has a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Prices are very reasonable for the quality & portion size. Whether you're dining in or ordering takeout, Baan Lao is definitely worth it. Highly recommend!

This spot is in a residential neighborhood & feels like a true hidden gem. It's small, family-owned, & super welcoming. We got the combo for two & a chicken bánh mì, & everything looked amazing - & tasted even better.
The bánh mì was honestly the best I've ever had, & the whole meal was an easy 10/10. Hands down, this place beats a lot of Lao restaurants I've tried. Definitely feels like one of the best restaurants in town. Also, the food was halal.

?I had a great experience at Baan Lao. We ordered the grilled skewers & the fried rice, & everything was delicious. You can really taste that the ingredients are fresh-the vegetables were crisp & the meat was tender, not heavy or greasy.
?Another huge plus was the speed. The food came out fast enough for a busy day, making this the perfect spot if you are on a tight schedule but still want a high-quality meal. Highly recommend!

1st time I went I tried the beef & chicken Banh Mi & I was very satisfied. This time I went for a Pho Soup & I was satisfied of the the taste for a'Halal Vietnamese' fusion!
We came to taste halal pho & banh mi for the first time. It was really good!! Even got free tea. Lovely service.Prices are great too.BUT. We found hair in our banh mi :///// & something in our pho too. Mistakes can happen but i saw that it happened to other people too.
