The Au Pied de Cochon restaurant is where it all began. Passed from one generation to the next, family knowledge contributes to the restaurant's reputation. Constantly evolving, the Pied de Cochon celebrates its 20th anniversary in November 2021. This à la carte restaurant is located in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal. Authentic to its Quebec and Canadian roots, the dishes are hearty and comforting. Adopting the style from French brasseries, the chef and his team draw inspiration from local and seasonal products to create a timeless menu. With private import wines, beers brewed in Montreal, and signature cocktails, Au Pied de Cochon restaurant is a friendly place where local products are showcased. There is one of the first open kitchens in Montreal where you can see the cooks in action.

via LibroWe visited Au Pied de Cochon on the recommendation of a friend who resides in Montrèal. It was also our first visit to the city. The food was delicious & filling. The initial service was slow. Our server forgot our wine order three times, but had plenty of time to chat liberally with the table next to ours, the occupants of which spoke fluent French (we did not). Service improved. We were also assisted by a lovely server (a female) who made us feel most welcome.

Un plat peu être gourmant & riche mais comporter des légumes pour que l'assiette soit plus équilibrée. Si un chef de l'émission Chef de bois présentait un plat dénué de légumes à Martin Picard, je suis convaincue qu'il lui ferait remarquer que son assiette n'est pas bien balancée. Je ne comprends donc pas qu'il offre cela à ses clients...Je ne recommanderai pas le restaurant à mes amis à cause de cette raison. Mais je sais que vous avez tous les clients qu'il vous faut alors je ne m'inquiète pas pour vous! Bonne continuité!

via LibroWe've made a # of special trips to Montreal to eat at PDC over the past decade or so. It is my favorite restaurant in the world so we decided to go for our 10th wedding anniversary. The service was the best we experienced in Montreal but the food was below the lofty expectations that have been set in previous years. The duck breast in the canard en conserve can was almost inedible it was so tough. The knife that looked like a fish deboner was no match for the breast. The plogue appetizer had a very overcooked pancake. We also had the cod, the oysters, & bison tartare which were all excellent. All of the tastes were excellent but the execution on the two dishes mentioned was below what we've come to expect. We'll be back again for the nostaliga, the service, & the atmosphere & hope that the execution is better (& the cromesquis are brought back).
via LibroAu Pied de Cochon lived up to its reputation! I had the scallops appetizer & it melted in my mouth. Then I had the Duck in a Can. With a name like that, how can you pass it by? Every bite was delicious. Highly recommend!

via LibroHostess stopped to chat with someone when she was supposed to take us to our table (we waited a good 10 min). The table we were assigned was next to a very loud & large group of people (probably 10) & it was impossible to talk. We ordered appetizers & main dishes & we waited a good 35 min to get the appetizers (table next to us got theirs first when they were sitted after us). The food was good but the service was just not acceptable. This was supposed to be a good experience & I was not happy at all
