Loved the food but unfortunately it was not hot on arrival at the table (& I think a foie gras burger would have tasted much better if it was?). But the server Theo was very awesome & gave us a discount, which we appreciated tremendously. Tiny thing: a staffer left the bathroom before I used it & the seat was covered in wet droplets I had to clean up - is that a bidet thing? I know the team is working so hard, so don't want to be hard on them - they were lovely. & the carrot dish was the best carrots I've ever had in my whole life.
Au Pied de cochon is the BEST restaurant in all of Montreal maybe even the whole Quebec Province.
We sat at the bar & had such a good time watching & interacting with the professionals in the kitchen. Plus! Everything was just delicious. Really fun dining experience.
My husbands pork chop was very dry. He didn't want to eat it hardly. My Guinea fowl was excellent. service was excellent. tight & loud restaurant
Always a wonderful experience. The food is phenomenal, as is the service. & always a special treat to be seated in front of the kitchen staff as they prepare a wide variety of dishes.
We were seated near the kitchen & it was too loud & busy. Our waiter forgot one dish & brought the wrong thing once. Overall, a good experience but the seating location really made for a less than optimal experience for us.
Mr Picard was at the restaurant this night & I was a bit nervous but I went up an spoke to him. What a gentleman. I mentioned I had been to the restaurant every time I was in Montreal & have never been disappointed. A great night!
An absolutely delicious & delightful evening. Our best meal there yet & that says allot!
I saw staff that genuinely liked their work, a certain comrade like & helpful attitude & enthusiasm.
Very impressed w the fellow who ran the fire pit!
Joe? As well as the line that kept the plating assembly fast.
Our waiter was knowledgeable & his suggestions were good.
My only, very small negative was that I had reserved a week prior but it seemed to also send a 2nd request for confirmation very late at night. Hardly a complaint more of a redundancy
Looking forward to summer & your outdoors venue.
Thank you for such a fine dining occasion.
I would've liked some more vegetables on the plate to cut the richness of the duck
I have been wanting to eat here for over ten years. Worth the wait & I will definitely be back. Phenomenal food.
All around wonderful experience. Friendly, attentive, & passionate service. Amazing food & wine. Would absolutely revisit next time we are in town.
The service was slow. We were seated outside a little after 5pm & the was one waitress handling multiple tables. A runner offered to take out order but didn't know the specials. So we waited & waited. Finally an additional waiter came out from inside & took our order. The appetizers came we finished them & then waited too long for our mains. Not wanting to wait longer, we opted out of dessert.
The foie gras nigiri was stellar as always. The duck temaki was nice, light, & fresh testing. The mapo tofu basically tasted like a Bolognese, but I enjoyed it. The guinea fowl I didn't like the flavors of at all.
Tres bon ! Nous avons partagé des plats à 4 (3 entrées & 3 plats principaux) la quantité était vraiment la. Musique un peu forte
I have been to Au Pied de Cochon twice before with food & ambiance, this time their classic dishes were done right although the pork chop arrived to the table slightly warm but closer to cold...the newer dishes were very underwhelming for the price & personally did not impress me.
Very disappointing - all 3 starters were served together. The famous duck in a can was terrible. The duck was very tough & undercooked on half of the breast. The accoutrements were overcooked like mush & under-seasoned.. To be honest - it looked dog food. Wine & drinks were okay. Service was very good. Overall, I will not return nor recommend to others. Very sad as this was a bucket list restaurant destination. We traveled all the way from Australia.
