With a bit of a glitch that our food was quite delayed the staff aimed to please & wanted to be sure that we left with a positive experience. We most definitely will be back, oh my g d their poutine!!
A faire & refaire!!
On reviendra!
It was fantastic , even though our eyes were bigger than our stomachs & we required a take away box! We sat at the bar where we watched the chef & his team perform his magic. Our waiter Alex was attentive & fun as was every staff member. We started with the maple stuffed donut chicken liver mousse, braised onions & pistachios- out of this world! It was followed by the foie gras Mapo Tofu with Udon noodles & spicy ground pork- outstanding, but we didn't stop there! We finished up with the pork chop with mustard hollandais, fondant potatoes & mushroom sauce, we had the rest for breakfast! Au Pied du Cochon has been on our bucket list for 10+ years & it didn't disappoint! We will definitely return!
Encore merci.
Delicious, rich food, but lacklustre service.
We arrived on time for our reservation & waited 20 minutes in the entryway before being seated, right by the door. Another group had been having cocktails at our table, & they were moved to the back, & we were seated, without the staff changing over the cutlery & plates, which they'd touched, but not eaten from. Kind of strange during COVID times.
During our meal, our server did the bare minimum. We wanted to order a second bottle of wine, but no one asked us. There was alot of shuffling people around & moving tables near us. I was introducing my parents to the joys of Montreal & they were pretty disappointed. For a $400+ meal it wasn't a great experience.
Great food. Fantastic staff! If you get a chance to sit at the bar & see the kitchen in action, do it!
Had a mixed experience @ PDC. We were seated close to the kitchen/bar area where it was very loud (even with earplugs). This made it hard to enjoy the experience. Since the place was busy, it would have been hard to switch tables until the end of the meal so we decided not to ask. We got 4 total entrees/mains but were overall disappointed: Pork tongue was too salty & not particularly flavourful. Plogue à Champlain was good but a bit too sweet. The fish & chips was way too oily & overly battered. Overall, the highlight of the experience was the duck in a can, unique concept & interesting flavour + texture combinations. We also enjoyed our Ginette cocktail. Service & presentation was very good, no complaints. Had been looking forward to trying PDC for a while but don't think we'll return.
The food & atmosphere was excellent as always. We sat at the kitchen bar & it was awesome to watch the crew work. We were only visiting Montreal but we will make it back to Au Pied de Cochon every time we return!
Absolutely fantastic service & food. I can't think of anything negative to say so I'll point out that the people at the bar had much nicer wine glasses than the tables
