A truly special place. Everything they prepared was incredibly delicious, beautiful & served with warmth & kindness. If you can, try to reserve seats at the bar so you'll be right in the action as their hard-working chefs & team work in an impressive symphony of collaboration to bring your amazing, creative & delightful dishes. When we were there, someone - perhaps an off-duty member of the APDC staff, or at least a friend of our server - was dining at the bar with his girlfriend. Our server (tall, small mustache) spent the entire night chatting with them & ignored us entirely. I am accustomed to the wonderfully attentive staff there & have loved my prior visits. This visit was unpleasant because of our server. Everyone else was lovely.
It was an enormous pity to watch everyone else having such a good time while we were ignored.
5 stars for the rest of the team. Zero stars for our server.
my wife & i sat at the bar & couldnt have had a better time. watching the staff moving 100 mph & never a miss step. it was just amazing how great the meal was. So sad not able to finish the bread pudding but we were so full of all the wonderful quebec food. My foodie friends are all very jealous ! thanks to your great staff

We sat at the bar & had a view into the kitchen. It was amazing to watch the chef & others at work, & the chef very kindly took the time to chat to us. The waiting staff were excellent, & the food- well, I don't have the words to fully express how wonderful it was. The foie gras starters in particular stand out. I would highly recommend a visit, make sure you get a place at the bar!
I have been eating at your restaurant for close to 20 years, whenever I visit Montreal. I love sitting at the bar for a great experience watching the chefs or bartender work. Service is always friendly & excellent, even though my French isn't good. Everyone will speak English to me, which is appreciated. I was even in a bind because of internet issues & your manager shared a wifi code to help me out.
Food quality is always outstanding. I always get the Poutine with Foie Gras. This visit I also enjoyed the bison tartare, also delicious & flavorful!! I regularly recommend your restaurant to anyone coming to Montreal! I can wait for my next visit because no one makes poutine like yours!! 😋😋
We really liked our meal but expected a bit more for the price brackets.
We were sitting at the bar & got told by our waiter that what we wanted to order was out of stock (tuna steak).
20 minutes later we hear the line cook saying she didn't understand why no tuna was being sold since it was one of the best meat they had on their menu.
Stunning meal, some portions like the oysters were tiny but for a good reason, duck in a can was HUGE but beyond delicious. Service, atmosphere, food- all amazing. Sit at the bar, it's so awesome to watch these guys work. I will be back

We sat at the bar directly in front of the open kitchen. The cooks were happy & welcoming. The food was expertly prepared & presented. It was an over all pleasure to to experience an evening w'ell never forget.
Sat at the bar - best seat in the house, get to watch the kitchen staff work & do all food preparation!
My friend & I sat at the bar & it was like dinner & a show! We loved watching the work being done in the kitchen & the food was delicious! I'm not a big foie gras person, but I enjoyed all the dishes we ordered that had them. The dishes were all unique & the flavors went well together. I loved the mapo tofu udon dish. The flavors were unexpected & would have tasted great even without the foie gras.
- [ ] Every time my boyfriend comes to montreal he comes here. It was my first time. We sat at the bar & loved it. The foie gras nigiri was so good we ordered 2. My boyfriend raved about the urchin. The fois gras mapo tofu was delicious & the special of the night which was a scallop dumpling was insane. The ginea fowl leg & maple fries did not disappoint either. Dessert was hot caramel pudding with foie gras & cheese, a surprisingly delicious combination. High level of service. Very impressed.
One of our favorite meals ever. The entire experience was amazing! Everyone on the team was so kind & knowledgeable & seemed to love what they do. They made it so fun. The food was delightful! From the presentation to the flavor. & it was so fun to sit & the bar & see everything being made. Highly recommend.

Le vin commandé est arrivé 30 minutes plus tard sur notre table sous prétexte qu'il n'était pas froid. L'expérience a donc mal commencé.
Les toilettes !!! Drôle d'idée de les placer dans le bar, j'étais mal à l'aise d'y aller... En plus, la lunette n'était pas baissée & l'urine de l'utilisateur précédent y était toujours: beurk !

Arthur was amazing! The staff is so friendly, food is superb & atmosphere is electric. Sit at the bar & watch the incredible culinary team make your night! A must being in Quebec & the specials are unreal.
We were sat in the narrow passage by the kitchen so it was very loud & people were rushing by a lot, that's why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars for the ambiance. We also had a kid next to us that was misbehaving a bit which was unexpected for an upmarket restaurant. But as I was getting a little frustrated, the staff gave the boy extra attention & the chef came & gave him his apron & had a photo with him. Their kindness was really appreciated from the solo parent, & seeing their kindness made us enjoy the experience even more. The staff were exceptional, absolutely faultless. But that heavy, rich food & just one toilet off the bar gives me anxiety!

While the food might not be for everyone as it is heavy & rich - what else would you expect from an MP restaurant. Servers & wait staff are very attentive & they have a make it right attitude. The ambience is a bit frenetic particularly if you sit at the bar in front of the kitchen but if you love to watch cooking & food prep - that's the place to be. A great experience & food didn't disappoint. Memorable & enjoyable.

incredible rich dishes! Might be too heavy / oily / greasy for some, but I loved it :D Service was super helpful & knowledgeable about all the dishes & helped us choose.
It was a bit loud in there but that might just be a Montreal thing. We noticed that in many other restaurants & bars too. Shame because the place has a nice atmosphere, would love to linger a bit but we could barely hear eachother.
Always a wonderful event eating at this world class restaurant.

Hip & lively atmosphere. Incredible food. The staff was wonderful, I sat at the bar solo & had a lovely time getting recommendations while chatting. I had the Duck in a Can & a delicious Pear liquor apertif. Will be returning to try the Pork, & parler français avec toi! Merci Beaucoup^_^
Lively atmosphere & delicious food. Staff was helpful & attentive. If you want a more quiet dinner, go early, by 10pm the place is hopping. If you want more of a show, sit at the bar & watch the chefs create the amazing food!

Every dish we had was decadent. Don't go there unless you're ready to experience rich, & incredibly flavorful dishes! The service was wonderful & being able to watch the chefs cook while sitting at the bar was particularly special. Wonderful experience at this one-of-a-kind establishment.
We had friends from Vancouver, BC who raved about dinner here. We are so glad we listened & were able to get a reservation. We chose to seat at the bar as we watched the chefs meticulously prepare each plate - it was an awesome sight to see. Our server Alex was charming & funny - we enjoyed chatting with him. The food was excellent & they knocked it out with the first course - bison tartare hand roll. Our main courses did not disappoint - the aged pork chop & duck in a can. Overall, a wonderful meal & experience in Montréal. We cannot wait to go back!
We had an excellent evening. I really enjoyed the casualty & unpretentious atmosphere from Au Pied de Cochon. We sat at the bar to have a view of the action from the kitchen & was very pleased! Our food came out decadent, rich & delicious every time. This was our second time at the restaurant & definitely recommend to everyone. You have to indulge in the foie gras, the meat fat & all of the deliciousness should you decide to go here... there's no point otherwise.
