Not getting the Lambchops again, fine to have tried it but I'll pass not worth it.
Greek salad was the highlight! very yummy fried zucchini as well was good
Lambchops were tiny & a little more on the well done side when I had requested for medium. They were not horrible. Just not competitive with other places price, size & taste wise
Rice was partially half cooked but not terribly, still edible . Some would argue though
Ill come back for pita & salads maybe fries that's about it looking forward to retrying the pita, been a while since I've had theres.
Service was just okay, the guy was working alone & seemed tired maybe he was having an off day, I am giving him the benefit of the doubt
Ordered a chicken pita souvlaki plate to go. The ceasar salad was really good, fries were a little bit soggy, which is to be expected when picking up/delivery so that's fine. But the chicken was dry & was cut into slices just like you see in belle province. Was expecting better from a greek restaurant. The one on Cote des neiges & edouard montpetit is really good though.
My wife gave me notice that she was on strike & that the kitchen was closed & since we were both famished we had no choice but to hop into our car & quickly drive to Arahova Souvlaki on Decarie Boulevard. We walked into a pleasant & brightly lit dining room & ordered the Old Fashioned Gyro Plate that came with a salad with feta cheese & tomatoes, Greek potatoes, pieces of pita bread,Tzatziki & of course it was loaded with juicy pieces of Gyro meat. We really enjoyed our meal & because the portions were so large we took what we could not eat home with us. Also I have to mention that service was fast & friendly. So what was my opinion of Arahova Souvlaki. All I can say is what the Greeks would shout out - OPA!!!
Beautiful, clean restaurant, nice professional service, delicious, fresh Greek food. Had the Chicken souvflaki & Pork souvlaki players, one with traditional Greek salad & rice, the other with Arahova green salad & geek potatoes, simply delicious. All with a side of sliced oiled hot pita triangles & tzatziki. Definitely recommended.
I used to remember eating at any Arahova restaurant was a big treat , now days almost every single Arahova establishment is dipping towards the gutted, ordered through DD pita was cold , barely anything inside the cold almost stale pita bread , Luke warm pilaf , 4 small pieces of Greek plain potatoes, no longer a treat , but to avoid list places to dine.
Disappointed.
We have been here previously & were happy, but this time we were disappointed. Ordered 2 lamb souvlaki pita dinners to go.
We were happy to see the lamb as it wasn't previously on the menu.
Turns out, the lamb was so tasteless & tough it was like chewing shoe leather. Each piece had to be removed from the pita & chewed separately for several minutes just so we could swallow it. (Great exercise for the jaw.)
The salads & potatoes were OK.
It's a little expensive for what you get. I was expecting it to be more like the original Arahova on Saint Viateur street in the Mile-End district. The original donner was not even close to what you get at the other location, very small pita & the meat is just not the same.
