I went for brunch with a friend on a Saturday at 11:15. We waited around 20 minutes for a table to be available. It's been a long time since I've been there & I think their menu has been updated. I usually have eggs, etc., an omelet, or a savory crepe, I ordered a grilled cheese on egg bread with all of this in it: scrambled eggs (more like an omelet) bacon, avacado, red onions & spicy mayo. Very greesy, but very delicious. It came with a choice of potato cubes or mashed which I chose, & a thin slice each of cantelope & honey dew melon (I would have preferred a bit mire fruit, but it was sufficient. The potatoes were good, but I brought 3/4 of the large scoop of potatoes home as it would be too much/heavy for me to eat with this meal.
My friend & I spent a long time chatting while eating, but the server didn't rush us out. When we finished our meal there were a few empty tables & no line up so we stayed longer. The server was efficient & very busy, & we were not neglected.
There is a wheelchair accessible individual washroom with a baby change table on the wall. The ladies' has two stalls & two sinks. The sinks are the bowl type that sit on top of the counter. Looks nice, but the water is all over the counter because the faucet neck is too short & the water flows off your hands in behind the sink unless you are very intentional.
I recommend this restaurant for families. But if you are hard of hearing choose a quieter time when it's not so busy.
The place got renovated but the food only got worse, portions got smaller & more bland. I had ordered the roasted turkey & it was as dry as sand as were the potatoes that were flavourless. Their server is disappointing as he was passive & even took my food before asking if I was done (which I wasn't) . Overall I will not be coming back.
Ordered a hamburger which was awful. It was tasteless. The mashed potatoes were completely cold & service very slow..What a waste!
Ended up having lunch, a double cheese burger which was real bad, dry & tasteless. Mashed potatoes were completely cold.I had to also wait too long for service when I wanted something,What a waste of money!
Feb 18th 230 pm & they can't make me an order of potatoes to go...no excuse, bad service means I'm going out of my way to visit their competitors when we do family brunch until maybe one day returning to an Allo Mon Coco location.
The boy host looked like he had no management. Just a kid in jeans staring at his phone.
I was at the restaurant a few days ago. It had been a long time since I last went, & I remembered a delicious breakfast. To my surprise, the food was very bad. It's not the same as before the bacon was black & extremely burnt, & the mashed potatoes were horrible. On top of that, everything was served cold, & the waiter provided poor service. The quality is not the same anymore. My last experience was very bad.
The service was ok but mediocre. Had to repeat our order, received wrong items. Asked for mash got cubed. Everything was cold. Potatoes were cold & our chai lattes were just under warm. Very disappointed.
I always come here to eat breakfast with my grandmother. I recently had a surgery that doesn't allow me to eat much. I wanted a kid's meal portion, which was refused & I understood. (I even showed my medical card) The waiter was rude about it. I then ordered an adult sized meal. We got our meals & the potatoes & the bread weren't what we ordered. Our coffee & water wasn't being filled. As we waited for the bill, the owner came out to talk to us. We are grown adults & understand that I couldn't order a kids' portion. We didn't need the owner to come out & rehash & defend the issue. It was uncalled for & he was very unfriendly. The food was already ordered & end of story. He also asked us about the waiter & what exactly was said. We said nevermind, we just wanted to pay & get out of there because the whole atmosphere was negative & uncomfortable. He left our table & we waited for the bill. Our waiter came without a word & dropped the payment machine & bill on the edge of the table & walked away. Not even looking at us or handing it to us. I have never been so disappointed in service. My grandmother is 79 years old & we always come here to eat together. We will never come back.
Pros: Monday to Friday, if you go early enough, they have an early bird special menu that's inexpensive. Portions are large. Free coffee refills. Breakfast potatoes (cubed or mashed) are tasty. Cons: The urinal in the handicap washroom is overflowing with urine. When it rains, the restaurant is riddled with buckets to catch the water from the leaky ceiling.
First of all, you get greeted by a sweatpants wearing teenager who graciously makes time for you by stopping her social media for a few minutes. She is wearing tennis sneakers & looks like she just came back from gym class. We are offered the worst seats in the busiest location (where there should not even be a table, frankly) & when we ask to be seated in one of the many empty tables she says it is reserved, but no one is there at 2 pm (& no one show up there the entire time we ate!). We get seated at a high table, order & the food arrives quickly. But, no utensils & no check on us (you know, the usual "is everything to your liking..") despite the fact that we are clearly not eating. Finally, I request utensils & the missing toast (no butter, please). The utensils arrive immediately but the toast is drenched in butter. Frankly, the entire experience was something that felt like a fancy McDonalds. Kids for staff who have no experience & lots of plastic decor. If I am to spend almost $50 bucks on two coffees, a breakfast plate & 1 side of potatoes (fancy & yummy, I must admit), I would rather go elsewhere. It was just not worth the value. Fifty bucks & I only ordered 1 full meal (2 eggs, a smallish dessert crepe, & forgettable extras on the side). In summary, I like the food at this place, but the experience (service & ambience) & the bang for the buck is just not there.
