I had a very disappointing experience at ALO MON COCO today, & I feel I need to share it.
I ordered food as usual, & when I got to the fruit plate, I noticed there was a small insect on the fruit. I only saw it right before I was about to eat the fruit, which was honestly shocking & very upsetting. This is not something any customer should find on their plate.
What made the situation even worse was how long I had to wait just to speak to someone. The restaurant was very busy, & I understand that, but after noticing the insect, I waited around 15 minutes for the waitress responsible for my table to come. She did not come, so I spoke to a male staff member & explained that I needed help. He told me that he was not responsible for my table & that he would let the waitress know to come.
After waiting about another 5 minutes & still seeing nobody come, I had to speak to another waitress. I politely asked her for the bill & told her that I come to this restaurant often & that something like this should not happen. I also told her that since it was the first time, I was not going to make a big issue out of it, but I wanted to mention it because finding an insect on food is unacceptable.
She said okay & told me she would inform the waitress responsible for my table. Then I had to wait around another 10 minutes before the waitress finally came. When she arrived, she seemed in a rush & I explained to her that there was a problem & showed her the insect on the fruit. Instead of immediately apologizing properly, she asked me whether the insect came with the plate or if it had flown in from outside. I honestly told her that, from what I saw, it came with the plate.
After that, she asked me what I wanted her to do. I told her I just wanted to pay the bill & leave. Then she offered to bring another fruit plate. She brought a new fruit plate, but by that point I was already upset & uncomfortable, so I took it & left feeling very disappointed.
I am especially upset because I come to this location often, & this is the first time I have experienced something like this. I did not make a scene, I stayed calm, & I tried to handle it respectfully, but the whole situation was frustrating. Finding an insect on food is already bad enough, but having to wait so long, repeat myself to multiple staff members, & then receive that kind of response made the experience much worse.
I hope the management takes food hygiene & customer service more seriously, because this was not handled the way it should have been.
the mash patatoe were ice cold , eggs burned. service was so so. took a while for server to come
to us even though restaurant was not very busy. server was a bit rude as well
Good place to eat but staff was ignorant at sum point when the restaurant was not that busy, asked for a decaf coffee & I was told it was finished & I would have to wait a long time for it if I want. Coffee refill was asked once only on our demand we had to wait for a long time, food was great & fresh.
Very busy. Server wasn't very attentive. Large portions. Pricey for breakfast.
Food was OK. Our waitress was very good. Waiting to get a table assigned, even though when the staff is not busy... not good at all.
We went at noon on a weekday & it was not too busy. Pleasant service & generous servings. The food was delicious, & the tasty coffee was flowing. Their fruit is very fresh. There are many options on the menu. Overall A+!
Great place for a nice relaxing brunch in a weekend.
The place was full but wasn't crowded.
It was kinda busy, the waitress was slightly slower but ok.
I have the special Allo Mon coco. Eggs were done as requested (easy over). The breakfast came out hot. Love it.
Food was as usual great. The portions of fruits has decreased compared to before probably due to the inflation.
Overall great experience.
I would recommend to have an laid-back brunch.
