I went with the entire family (old & young) & I must say that the service was terrible. We were one of only 3 customer tables & the appetizers took over 20 minutes to arrive. We also ordered the mix grill which was another disappointment - charred chicken & meat with a strange after taste - & filet Mignon that was either rare or well done all in the same platter. I came here 3 years ago & it was the same subpar quality & food - but I figured it's OK they weren't open long. Yet here we are 3 years after, same subpar service & food, only a nice decor. Never coming back again.
Great food, even better service. We were here for the first time & Ali was very helpful with the menu & the recommendations, spot on. The meat platter is a must. Ward was also serving us & she was very timely with he food & patient with a big group. Place is highly recommend, great vibe, nice decor, comfy seats, spacious, welcoming, generous & most importantly authentically tasteful.
I would recommend trying this restaurant if you get a chance, my brother & I had a good meal here. The sambousek with sujuk & cheese are delicious. I had the mansaf, which was pricey but the portion size definitely makes up for it (about 1.5 portions worth of food for me, 2 if you're a lighter eater) & the dish tastes good too. It's also a unique dish that's hard to find outside a Jordanian household so definitely consider that too. The ambiance was nice & quiet with good decor which provided a good environment to enjoy your food. Service was slightly cold but still met the minimum acceptable level, overall not a huge issue but if you prioritize warm service this might be an issue. Overall, would say it was money well spent & is worth giving a try if you're in the area.
The place is cozy & decor is nice, but don't be deceived, the food is over priced & is not that good. It took forever for our 40 dollars shishtawok plate to come we thought they forgot about it. When it came we noticed the fries are soaking with oil & some are burnt, we told the waiter & she took the plate back to the kitchen & said they will replace it. 20 minutes later she came back with an attitude & said the oil is new & the fries were just made & there was nothing wrong with it they can't understand why did we complain. I felt so bad about this I couldn't continue eating. The new plate had the same exact issue with oily fries. At the end I spoke to the waiter about it, they offered us free desserts but this whole situation & the way it was handled made this experience very unpleasant. I would never come here again.
Amazing authentic Syrian cuisine, Their Muhammara & Mutabbal are the best in town, the decor is amazing. 💯 recommended
This place was a highlight of our trip to Montreal. Everything here is beautiful - food is presented so nicely, & the restaurant itself is incredibly decorated. It was our last night in Montreal & we were looking for something where we could dress casually but get good, fresh food & a nice atmosphere. It was perfect. We had the hummus, moutabbal, muhammara (all veg), & the kibbeh sajia (beef). Service was warm & inviting. A mix of families & couples dining here. Dishes are large, for sharing. Would definitely recommend!
Amazing food! I was here today & the service was amazing, the place is we'll established as the decoration is amazing. Brings me back to my home town. Overall 10/10, highly recommended!
We had the Ouzi the kibbeh & the sea bass & Syrian wine. It was all incredible. We have very high standards for food & the places we eat & from when you walk in the door the atmosphere & decor is striking the food was delicious & our server Sanaa was absolutely excellent, being patient walking us through all the foods & providing us with recommendations. I will be eating here again & would absolutely recommend it. I don't think there is a wrong thing to order on the whole menu.
Visiting from NYC we're always up for trying different cultures food & cuisine. This was definitely atop the list, being from NY I've basically seen & had it all but this was a really enjoyable first authentic Middle Easter experience. The atmosphere & ambiance & decor was nothing that we've experienced before & was very impressed. As a musician myself, I was also really drawn to the singing, the playing & the DJ. The live Lebanese music & entertaining belly dance that we were able to take part in was really fun. The foods were big in portions, delicious, rich in flavor & had no complaints whatsoever. Our taste buds & stomach were very satisfied. Friendly attentive staff. We were seated right away didn't feel rushed. I like when we're finished eating that we can just enjoy a conversation without the check being placed in front of us. Shout out to the cooks in the back as well, they definitely don't get as much credit as deserved. You may either want to walk or take a taxi, parking can be difficult to come by. May be a bit on the pricier side for some but it's well worth it. The entire decor was authentic from the moment you walk in from the stairway, the walls were interesting, the chairs, the floor were were catching & even the table cloths, felt like I was eating on Aladdin's magical rug, in a good way. Definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for something different.
The restaurant is a joy to be in with its nice decoration & welcoming staff. The food is absolutely amazing! Raw meat lovers, try the kibbeh nayye, you will remember it :) Also try the fatteh crevettes & the rich & generous fattoush salad... I'm mentioning these options cause they're my favorites, but the rest is amazing as well!
Very nicely decorated Syrian restaurant that serves great food. The brunch menu is new & a good value for the quality of the food. We had the falafel & hummus plate that was incredible & the shakshuka with warm bread that was amazing. The decor is just outstanding.
For a moment in time, you are transported into another era, another country with the festive decor & live music, forgetting the cold montreal winters. A great variet of delicious food & fun cocktails. Great service, attentive & quick. Will definitely come back!
J ai trop aime la decoration & la serveuse zineb etait vrmt gentille en plus le repas etait delicious je suis satisfete 👌
It's easily the best food I've had since i moved to Canada. Highly recommended!! It is, however, very expensive, but it is definitely worth it! I suggest you dine in if you're eating from here, because the atmosphere is very nice. Calm music, & nice decor. You'd be paying a lot for this food, might as well enjoy everything they have to offer!
Abu el Zulof's brunch isn't just about the food - it's a nostalgic journey through flavors & memories. The charming interior decor, reminiscent of childhood days, envelops you in warmth & comfort. Vintage trinkets & colorful tapestries adorn the walls, setting the stage for a trip down memory lane. Accompanying this nostalgic setting is the music - a medley of traditional tunes that whisk you back to family gatherings & festive occasions. As you indulge in the flavorful Middle Eastern cuisine, memories flood back with each bite. Crisp falafel paired with creamy hummus, comforting shakshouka served with warm bread, & the surprising combination of halloumi bread with watermelon - each dish is a delicious ode to the past. Throughout the experience, the attentive service & friendly staff ensure that every moment is filled with joy & nostalgia. Abu el Zulof's brunch isn't just a meal - it's a nostalgic escape, making it the perfect destination for a leisurely weekend brunch with a touch of nostalgia.
This restaurant is def #1 in terms of food, vibes, music, & decor. The presentation of food is unique & the quality is top! I visited this place again & again after the first visit. Never fails to disappoint. Definitely the first place to go for Syrian & Lebanese food. Also it has great music & vibes during the weekend!
The decor is very cute & very creative with a lot of classic objects & photos of singers. It is a casual outing, & is on crescent, so keep that in mind when you come for a visit.
We were seated promptly & ordered a variety of items to try out from every section of the menu.
The portions were larger than other places, so unless you’re very hungry or are many, I wouldn’t order many dishes. As with many middle eastern places, the dishes are meant to be shared.
There were a lot of families & groups in the restaurant listening to the live music.
In comparison to other Syrian places around town & what we’ve had abroad, this place is just ok. Our favorite dishes were the mansaf, kibbeh & batersh. We didn’t enjoy the tabouleh, zulof & fish dish as much.
