We stopped here for lunch & it was extremely busy. We originally were going to order takeout & decided to stay to eat it there. It was a very busy restaurant with not a lot of seating available & we hoped they could accommodate us. It must have been our lucky day, we were able to be seated.

We ordered pizza & drinks. Pizza was crunchy & was prepared in a wood fire stove & came with a lot of toppings. Drinks were good as well. Customer service was helpful & friendly. They spoke in French & were bilingual able to speak in English as well. They also have English menus available so we were able to give our translator app a rest. We met a very nice couple seated next to us. We had a very nice experience.

I visited this restaurant with a friend during my trip to Montreal couple of weeks ago & I would like to acknowledge this exceptional gem in the heart of Montreal!

What a delightful place! In terms of 1) taste: It was literally better than many pizzas that I have had in Italy! Good luck deciding between the 2) huge selection of their menu: the fresh ingredients & the incredible taste will make you wonder: why haven't you visited this restaurant earlier!?!
3) The prices are more than reasonable & you get a great ratio quality/price no doubt!
I had the quatro cheese pizza, wine, cafe late & tiramisu & asked our 4) exceptional server Costa for recommendations: he was professional, courteous, sociable with great interpersonal skills & took the time to recommend food, desserts & explain the ingredients!
He is one of the nicest customer service professionals who makes you feel very valued & appreciated! What could we ask for more! I also asked him if he could write down the protein selection for me: such a helpful attitude with zero hesitation!!
5) The ambiance is very cozy with lots of entertaining & educational wall art, a colourful space with lots of sunlight (millennial tip: great for pictures)!
Actually there was more: 6) we had a great conversation regarding traveling, the Greek & Italian cultures & everything in between!

All in all a very tasty multicultural experience that leaves you in awe & wanting to come back for more!
For these 6 reasons I highly recommend PIZZA IL FOCOLAIO as a great restaurant for experiencing the great culinary experience of Montreal & Quebec! I will definitely come back & bring more friends! Merci Costa of Greece for making our experience beyond outstanding, 10/10 stars! Maria El Chababi

Excellente pizzeria ! La carte propose un très large choix & les pizzas sont non seulement délicieuses, mais aussi très copieuses. L'équipe est sympa & accueillante. L'adresse est très courue, alors un conseil : venez tôt pour avoir une place !

An amazing place for pizza lovers. They have a huge variety of pizza flavours. We tried the seafood pizza, pesto with chicken, grilled veggie & regular vegetarian pizzas & we loved them. We also chose the whole wheat dough. Their salads are also delicious & big. If it's summer I advise sitting on their patio.

We ordered number 27 Carré Phillips. I also had a limonata, which enhanced the flavor of the pizza. We had a good time seated outdoors. Only there were a couple of wasps that kept causing us trouble. The food & service were good. They had plenty of staff to keep things moving.

We happened upon this restaurant while walking near our hotel Queen Elizabeth. They have over 70 different pizzas & was difficult to choose! My husband & I each had a pizza & was able to finish all! If you're hungry, it is perfect for one otherwise expect leftovers. Our waiter an older gentleman was a bit grumpy & annoyed. Service was fast though & we really enjoyed the meal!
