Had the chance to try fresh maple syrup on a stick frozen on a sheet of shaved ice/snow.
One of Montreal's most famous sites! This market has so many different vendors selling everything from fresh produce to maple syrup, candy, ice cream, meats, & more. There are also lots of food stands with a plethora of different things to try. This market has an indoor, covered section & outdoor vendors, but the weather wasn't the greatest when we visited, so no outdoor stalls were present. Definitely a fun place to check out!
Lovely market, lots of fresh food options. While larger than atwater, I think I actually prefer that one more than here. Something about the vibe at jean talon just felt slightly more touristy, like how there was a mile long maple syrup boutique, or a trendy gluten free crepe place . No shade to y'all, you are creating & contributing towards a local amazing spot which is awesome. I'm never gonna dislike any sort of farmers market, & overall I enjoy my time here
The perfect place to get some maple syrup & maple candies as gifts. Also I found some Montréal-specific post cards there, with cool designs.
Bustling market with mostly produce & local products. Lots of vendors. Not touristy, though plenty of Maple syrup for sale
Me encantó ,, frutas y verduras , flores naturales , carne fresca , carnes frías , postres , tortas , crepes ,,, miel de maple !!!🍁 y mucho más !!
A must visit for foodies in Montréal!! Get ALL the maple syrup, candies, & candles in the centre, especially the spicy'Bras de Fer' maple butter. Treat yourself to a whole, de-shelled lobster at the seafood shop, pick up some organic Boudin (blood sausage), creton, & let your love of Québecois cheese run free in the cheese boutique (there's an exellent fromagerie inside the market & another fancier one across the street). Definitely stop for a buckwheat crepe (crispy, lacy, golden deliciousness), some fresh shucked oysters, & a warmed croissant sandwich with ham & cheese. Fill your bag with fresh veggies, fruit, grilled olives, & a baguette for later. You won't regret it!!
Such a lot of fun checking out the stalls of beautifully displayed fruit & veg, tempting meat products & cheeses. We picked up delicious maple treats, pastries, middle eastern cookware & interesting spices. Afterwards we enjoyed an authentic Mexican meal at the place across the street. Wonderful way to spend a few hours in Montreal.
