Plenty of things to pick up as souvenirs which are actually produced in Canada.
The market to visit in Montreal. Located in an old neighborhood, it features local produce & specialty foods. Parking is available underground.
A must visit for foodies in Montréal!! Get ALL the maple syrup, candies, & candles in the centre, especially the spicy'Bras de Fer' maple butter. Treat yourself to a whole, de-shelled lobster at the seafood shop, pick up some organic Boudin (blood sausage), creton, & let your love of Québecois cheese run free in the cheese boutique (there's an exellent fromagerie inside the market & another fancier one across the street). Definitely stop for a buckwheat crepe (crispy, lacy, golden deliciousness), some fresh shucked oysters, & a warmed croissant sandwich with ham & cheese. Fill your bag with fresh veggies, fruit, grilled olives, & a baguette for later. You won't regret it!!
Beautiful market with lots of fresh fruit & vegetables.
Fresh food & great people... Always a pleasure to go to this market..
Nice farmers market in Montreal with a lot of selection of fresh produce
Really cool market with various shops. Try 3 Pierres 1 Feu for a delicious meal after shopping & Première Moisson for fresh bread & baked goods.
We spent a wonderful October afternoon walking the market. Highly recommend. Lots of restaurants a d shops nearby as well
Busy market where you can find a large variety of delicious food
A really vibrant fruit & vegetable market with lots of options for food & drink.
This market truly has a lot to offer: fruit, vegetables, meat, snacks, & plenty of places to stop for something delicious to eat.
On of the best out door market I have been to.lots fresh vegetables & varieties & lots of interesting eateries
One of the best markets in Montreal! 🥕🍓 You can always find fresh fruits, vegetables, local products, & international foods. The atmosphere is lively, the vendors are friendly, & prices are usually fair compared to supermarkets. It's a great place to walk around, shop, & even grab a bite to eat. Highly recommend visiting, especially in summer when everything is more colorful & full of energy! 🌞
The market offers a delightful experience with a vast selection of vegetables, fruits, food, drinks, & charming small shops. Its convenient location near the metro & its proximity to the attractions within the Little Italy neighborhood add to its appeal.
Jean Talon Market is an absolute must-visit in Montréal. We enjoyed a warm, flaky quiche, a perfectly crisp baguette, rich artisanal cheese, & fresh homemade pasta with a flavorful sauce. The fruit stands were overflowing with vibrant, sweet, & fragrant produce. Every vendor we visited offered something special, & the overall atmosphere was lively, colorful, & welcoming. It's the kind of place where you can taste the best of Québec in one stop - we'll definitely be back.
A lively fruit market. Not always cheap but it's a fun experience.
Overrated market
It's just a simple small market where everything is overpriced
It's a honeypot for tourists
You can find good food but the prices are not what I expected
Jean-Talon Market isn't just a market - it's Montreal's soul in full bloom. Bursting with color, scent, & life, it seduces you with sun-warmed tomatoes, basil that smells like summer, & cheese that tastes like the countryside. Vendors greet you like old friends; every stall tells a story. I came for groceries & left with poetry. In every bite, in every smile, there's a reminder that food is more than sustenance - it's connection. Jean-Talon doesn't just nourish the body; it stirs the spirit. It's not a place you visit. It's a place you remember - with all five senses.
It's a pretty complete market. There's something for everyone. Ranging from what is offered as a produce market that brings fruits & vegetables from farmers around Quebec, to restaurants offering from crepes to seafood.
