ramen(418) broth(93) pork(51) chicken(48) noodle(45) bouillon(30) tonkotsu(26) soup(25) busy(23) recommend(21) karaage(21) rich(20)The service was fast & courteous. Food was amazing. They were packed, but still very kind. They had a place to leave our winter coats. A little pricier for a lamen, but as someone who loves good food, I would recommend it.
We went it on a really snowy day & it wasn't too much crowded but service & the ramen was pretty good. The server also surprised us with a couple of non alcoholic drinks.
On s'y attendait, encore ok.
T*bern guy.
Digne d'un Michelin? Michelin? Pense pas non!
The ramen is absolutely delicious! Definitely will return here the next time we visit Montreal. If you have trouble getting a seat, you can try to walk around the corner to the restaurant entrance. One side is focused just on serving ramen it seems & the other side serves larger menu with ramen still included.
would recommend, worth a try if you are ever in the area. Ramen soups is normally very salty but not in this case, totally drinkable, very savory, better than average for sure.
Karaage was a pleasant surprise, layers of flavor, I rate it higher than the ramen, maybe I just like fried chicken more in general.
Good but not worth wait, unfriendly service & very cramped
Great ramen & appetizers. Good queueing system. Unfortunately no alcoholic drinks.
Excellent tonkotsu ramen. The broth is rich, creamy, & full of depth without being heavy
Will definitely be back.
Rich, creamy tonkotsu with melt-in-your-mouth pork & a generous portion. The tempura & octopus sides were super crispy & delicious too. Plus, they have an open bar with plenty of cocktails. Totally worthy of its Michelin star-just be ready for a long wait during peak hours. Can't wait to come back & try the chicken broth!
I've been here many times before, but I've been compelled to leave a review this time as it does deserve it. After being introduced to authentic delicious Japanese restaurants in Vancouver area with local friends who kept saying its as close as you can get to Japan. In November that couple came to visit Montreal & Yokato Yokabai was on my list of restaurants to share with them. They were pleasantly surprised as I was again. we had reservations but we still needed to wait for our table to be ready, to be expected on a busy Saturday night. Thanks again to the staff for a great experience!
The food is edible but nothing to write home about, so not sure about the Michelin thing? It took them almost an hour to serve us & the broth wasn't even hot, to be honest I was about to leave & I wish I had. The portions are quite on the smaller side, & I'm not someone with a huge appetite. It left me wishing we had gone to our favorite place instead with better service, bigger tables, bigger portions, much richer broth flavor & much less crowded.
Karaage was good, pork broth was good but not crazy. To be honest the restaurant is overhyped. Service is mid & restaurant is cold as hell because of how close the entrance door is to the small dining room, which makes the seating cramped too.
Top 3 ramen for sure!!
Overall, we had a good experience. We ordered a sesame broth ramen with pork, & a pork broth ramen with chicken. The sesame ramen was incredible, but the pork-broth ramen was a bit disappointing (would not order it again). Also, the area where we were seated was very cold since the door with access to the entrance was always open.
Really poor experience.. food was super disappointing, atmosphere was uncomfortable, seating was unbearable (we had to hold our jackets while we eat…) & services was subpar (waited 15 minutes after being seated so we can have our order taken..). Avoid if you can. Neotokyo or Tori Ramen in Royalmount are significantly better options.
The food is great, but sitting at a table for more than 1 hour to get a ramen is a bit too much
