Absolutely exceptional experience at YEN Cuisine Japonaise! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was calm, elegant, & inviting. The service was warm & attentive without being intrusive - a perfect balance.
The food? Simply outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented & packed with authentic Japanese flavor. The sushi was incredibly fresh, the ramen rich & flavorful, & the attention to detail in every bite was clear. You can tell they take real pride in their craft.
Whether you're a longtime fan of Japanese cuisine or trying it for the first time, YEN is a must-visit. A perfect blend of tradition & modern refinement. Highly recommend - we'll definitely be back!View more

I decided to stop by this place because it looked promising & I'm so happy I did! It's a cute tucked away sort of place that is unassuming from the outside but so cozy inside. The food is mediocre. I ordered the Tenzaru Soba. Except the shrimp, rest of the tempura are not crispy at all. Will not recommend.View more

Awful quality sushi rice + mediocre quality fish cuts = very underwhelming
The tempura that we ordered was not even crispy (beside the shrimp, which makes us wonder if the shrimp was semi-precooked unlike the other vegetables, you can clearly see that the batter used are different)
The platting may seem nice but would not recommend.View more

This is an absolutely amazing restaurant! The ingredients are incredibly fresh, & everything we tried was exceptional. The foie gras & eel rice was absolutely delicious & so satisfying. The sashimi was unbelievably fresh with a perfect texture-simply top-notch! The salad was also very tasty & well-balanced. On top of the incredible food, the service was outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a truly delightful dining experience.View more

Excellent japanese food, with many choices of great quality. I went on a date with my boyfriend. On my reservation, I asked for a nice table, which they provided! We ordered tempura & maki as appetizers, then individually soba & donburi, & a glass of plum wine. Everything was delicious! The staff were nice, the restaurant itself really gave off a japanese feel. I would definitely recommend it!View more

its a pretty place but nothing memorable about the food..most plates a cold..the menu on line to take out is way bigger than the one they give you..very small variety of cocktails..its overrated..i'm glad i tried it but i won't go back & don't recommend.View more

Summary - can't recommend anyone to go here. I won't pitch a fit if someone else really wants to go here, but I won't elect to return on my own & I certainly could never put my name down next to a "you should go here" recommendation. Took a party of 9 (with reservation) on 26 AUG 2024 - we were stuffed into a table at the very back really intended for 8. It was exceptionally hot in the restaurant. They apologized & mentioned something about the AC I couldn't fully understand. In any case it was uncomfortable. We received sub-par service as well. Not sure if this because we were stuffed in the back & forgotten about or if they were just under staffed - doesn't really matter, the result was long intervals between server visits. Server got 90% of our orders correct - the remaining 10% were forgotten & required reminding. The salmon miso soup was great - super tasty & I'd be very happy to have that again. Everything else fell solidly into the average category at best. Nothing really outstanding. Sushi was average, tempura was average, karage was below average. Beer was canned rather than on tap, & they didn't have Asahi (it was on the menu, they were out). In a city with so many really great places to eat average isn't good enough - you'll be happier to go somewhere else.View more

I visited Yen with my friends tonight ☺️☺️☺️& yeas I want to say, I was thoroughly impressed. Every aspect, from the quality & taste of the dishes to the presentation & decor, was delightful. The ambiance of the restaurant perfectly complements its style, which is both chic & sophisticated, typical of a Japanese izakaya. If I were to recommend a Japanese restaurant, Yen would undoubtedly be my top choice. It seems I'm not alone in my opinion, as the restaurant was completely full. 🤓View more

Excellent food & good presentation, the chef knows his stuff, highly recommend ordering from there as the service is terrible as in non existent. Waitress took forever to come take the order, never checked in on us or took the plates away after we were done with the entree & main course. We wanted to take dessert & tea, but by the time we got a hold of someone, we were told the table was reserved for someone else, but that we could still order, but had to leave in 15 min. (90 min. after we arrived). We obviously skipped the dessert & we asked for our bill. 5 min later a dude comes to us saying we have leave as they need the table, but they had not even brought our bills yet & to top it all, they asked, for the third time, how to split the charge. Too bad, because the place is beautiful & the food id something 😋.View more
