A nice little izakaya place with authentic & delicious Japanese bistro dishes. Their imported sake added a nice touch to the place.Voir plus
Portions were generous. We ordered the sashimi platter, takoyaki, assorted tempura, & unagi don. I initially wanted a draft beer, but realized that the focus here is more on sake & whiskey. One suggestion: it would be great if they offered traditional tempura sauce instead of spicy mayo-especially if they're aiming to present themselves as an authentic Japanese restaurant. They were also out of uni, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the takoyaki & unagi don were great. Service from the staff was attentive, & I really enjoyed the overall ambiance of the interior.Voir plus
A really beautiful Japanese restaurant. Food was delicious & service very good. Try the Niji Salad very tasty. Kudos for decoration!Voir plus
Love the atmosphere!! I really recommend this place if you are looking for a Japanese restaurantVoir plus
This eatery offers some interesting Japanese dishes. The interior evokes a youthful Japanese atmosphere. The sake & Japanese whiskey selections are particularly remarkable, & I've found my favorite far yeast white beer, smooth & aromatic. However, the restaurant's noticeable fishy odor was rather off-putting.Voir plus
I'm calling this the best Japanese ricebowl I've had in canada yet to date. Perfectly cooked & seasoned forie gras & unagi, extremely flavorful sauce all make the perfect dishVoir plus
I recently visited a Yen cuisine restaurant, & it was an absolute delight! The food was incredibly delicious, & you could really taste the authenticity in every dish. Everything was fresh & perfectly prepared. The restaurant itself has a cozy, intimate atmosphere, making it feel like a hidden gem tucked away from the hustle & bustle. It's the kind of place you'd want to keep to yourself, but definitely worth sharing with friends & family. If you're looking for real, high-quality Japanese food in a charming setting, this is the spot!Voir plus
Japanese food is very fresh. The waiter & the boss are very enthusiastic. Especially suitable for couples. recommendVoir plus
Great food, staff & atmophere. If you love Japanese you will love Yen!Voir plus
Very delicious Japanese food, eel rice is my favorite, sashimi is very fresh! I will come back to eat matcha cake next time! The restaurant has a great environment & beautiful decoration, with paid parking spaces on both sides of the door. After eating, the area is very suitable for walking, what a great experience!Voir plus
I am kind of picky so I don't usually leave reviews, but I can say with confidence that this is the best dine-out meal - Japanese or not - I've had for a long while. Ingredients are fresh; portions are generous. Very nice ambience & service too. I don't like to take photos of my food; but empty plates say something.Voir plus
Probably one of the best Japanese cuisine you can have. Hot soba & their tartare were delicious! Meal size/quality definitely is worth the price ! The price is actually very reasonable.Voir plus
Everything in the menu is delicious, the food is fresh, well prepared & presented. The staff is nice & helpful. The place is nicely decorated, I little less noise will make it perfect. I recommend it for anyone who wants to experience Japanese cuisine.Voir plus
Excellent japanese food, with many choices of great quality. I went on a date with my boyfriend. On my reservation, I asked for a nice table, which they provided! We ordered tempura & maki as appetizers, then individually soba & donburi, & a glass of plum wine. Everything was delicious! The staff were nice, the restaurant itself really gave off a japanese feel. I would definitely recommend it!Voir plus
Yen, was in the past one of my favorite Japanese restaurants. I have found in my last several visits that the quality of the food offering has diminished!Voir plus
On of my favorite place for affordable & quick Japanese food in montrealVoir plus
Tasteful ramen & salad. I would prefer a lounge or Japanese music. Otherwise, everything was niceVoir plus
Wow! What a hidden gem (that should be hidden all the time). The food is not like any typical Japanese food. Very neutral & off the shelf sauce taste. Save your money.Voir plus
I visited Yen with my friends tonight ☺️☺️☺️& yeas I want to say, I was thoroughly impressed. Every aspect, from the quality & taste of the dishes to the presentation & decor, was delightful. The ambiance of the restaurant perfectly complements its style, which is both chic & sophisticated, typical of a Japanese izakaya. If I were to recommend a Japanese restaurant, Yen would undoubtedly be my top choice. It seems I'm not alone in my opinion, as the restaurant was completely full. 🤓Voir plus
I recently dined at Yen, & while my experience had its highlights, there were a few aspects that fell short of expectations. First & foremost, the food was fantastic. Each dish was meticulously prepared & bursting with flavor. From the fresh sushi to the sashimi, every bite was a testament to the chef's skill & dedication. The quality of the food alone would make me consider returning. The service was also commendable. The staff were attentive & courteous, going out of their way to help me figure out how to pay the parking fees-a gesture I greatly appreciated. Their willingness to assist with such a mundane task speaks volumes about their commitment to customer satisfaction. However, the environment left something to be desired. The noise level was quite high, largely due to the chatter from other patrons. This bustling atmosphere starkly contrasts with the serene & tranquil vibe typically associated with traditional Japanese restaurants. If you're looking for a quiet, intimate dining experience, this might not be the place for you. Another drawback was the behavior of one of the waiters. They seemed overly eager to clear the bill for the next table, which came across as somewhat pushy & detracted from the otherwise pleasant service. It wasn't a major issue, but it did leave a bit of a sour note on the overall experience. In summary, while Yen excels in food quality & generally good service, the noisy environment & the occasional pushiness of the staff might be off-putting for some. If you don't mind a lively atmosphere & are there primarily for the excellent food, it's still worth a visit.Voir plus
YEN CUISINE JAPONAISE is a gem for authentic Japanese dining. The serene ambiance & attentive service set the stage for an unforgettable meal. The sashimi is incredibly fresh & beautifully presented, & the miso black cod is perfectly cooked & flavorful. Every dish reflects meticulous care & quality. Whether for a quiet dinner or a special celebration, YEN consistently impresses & is one of my top recommendations.Voir plus
Fantastic food, Spectacular Service & Amazing Ambiance. I highly recommend this for every fan of japanese cuisine 😍Voir plus
We Traveled to Montréal last weekend & tried this so called the best Japanese restaurant in Montréal, & Oh My god! I was blew away by the service & food quality. It is absolutely stunning! Never had this level of amazing experience before. Hands down, best Japanese restaurant in Montréal! Highly recommended, definitely will be back next visit.Voir plus
Best japanese food I've ever had! Their new sushis blew my mind awayVoir plus
The fusion of foie gras & japanese food are mouthwatering. Definitely recommend the salmon roll with foie gras & unagi with foie gras rice bowl. Those two are out of this world.Voir plus
The restaurant should reintegrate the Dobin Mushi Soup!!! One of the best authentic Japanese soups!!Voir plus
