Celebrating my birthday, staffs were very nice & welcoming. They paid attention to the occasion we have reserved & offered us a slice of cake to celebrate my birthday & even sang me happy birthday song.
Food & presentation was good. We enjoyed their Chirashi bowls.
The rice in Gras rice bowl is not fresh. I can tell it was cooked long time ago.Voir plus
I've been ordering since 4 years at Yen, & I even told my friends & family about it because the food was amazing, well presented, & the ambiance really nice. 90% of the time I was happy with the service & the food.
That's until recently, I've ordered take out & was disappointed at the tiny amount of fish.
There was literally 30g of fish (3 half bites) I could barely notice it was in there). When I used to order there was a good 100-130g, enough to feel like it was a lot. Like I used to feel delighted at how it was delicious & good value. Now it felt like eating 24$ bowl of rice with veggies 😢😢 I don't know if it was the chef but I'm scared to come back if this is the new standard.Voir plus
The food was amazing, we had sushi, edamames, & a bowl. All delicious 🤤🫶🏻. I would improve a lil the service. But in general I like this restaurantVoir plus
Yen Cuisine Japonaise is such a cute spot, perfect for a date or a fun night out with friends. The vibe is super cozy with the brick wall & wooden panels, very Zen. But the real star? The food! The Sashimi Moriawase bowl was not only gorgeous but also insanely fresh & delicious. I also tried Soba noodles for the first time, & even though they were cold, the mix of black truffle mayo, tobiko, & scallops was chef's kiss! Can't wait to go back & try more dishes!Voir plus
I brought my family here for my mom's birthday & we had an amazing time. We ordered a variety of salmon, unagi, & torched hamachi sushi rolls, along with a bowl of gyudon. The first thing I noticed - they're very generous with their portions. You really get your money's worth. Second, the staff made us feel like a priority; they tended to our every need (& promptly) despite the restaurant being pretty busy. Third, the service worked very quickly! We were served within 15 minutes of ordering, & the waitress who took care of us frequently cleared the table & came by to check up on us. Lastly, the atmosphere was super calming, yet there was a nice buzz you could feel through Yen. There was always mellow chatter surrounding you, it was cozy & warm. :) My mom thoroughly enjoyed herself… & she's usually a harsh critic! She said she'd bring her work friends here the next time for a lunch or dinner date, & she barely eats out. It was so refreshing to see her so happy. Come here for QUALITY food, great service, & a happy time! :DDDDVoir plus
My poke bowl was really good & I really loved the ambiance of the restaurant! We took a reservation in case there wouldn't be any seats & I recommend that just in case if you want to go there on a weekend night!Voir plus
Had a work function here & loved the sashimi which was generous & tasty. Some of the tempura was unfortunately mushy & the salad dressing overpowered the salad, but that was balanced out by the chawanmushi, the sashimi, noodle bowls & others! Overall, delicious!Voir plus
I am quite disappointed with this place. I ordered foie gras & grilled eel rice bowl but got another combination with foie gras & scallop...& the napkin is dirty with very obvious brown stains. The atmosphere is kind of oppressive not relaxing. The price is okay...but I guess you will have a better option in mtl with the same price.Voir plus
One thing is certain, in this restaurant you get a good quality-price. The bowls are still generous too in portions but if you eat a lot you may need an appetizer. I wouldn't say it's the best sushi I ate. The rice lacked flavor, the fishes are all the cheapest cuts, etc. However, for the price I paid, this is very good. In Montreal, I'm happy about this find. I really enjoyed the ambiance too & the service was good. Overall, a good ratio for quality & price. With slightly more generous portions.Voir plus
Best Sashimi Bowl in Montreal! The Nori Barachirashi was absolutely delicious, with incredibly fresh fish. I also had the Salmon Sashimi which was amazing, with zero fishy aftertaste! The service is excellent & the atmosphere is very warm & cozy. Highly recommended!Voir plus
Great food quality, even better for the price of it all! The sashimi taste so great, & even better with the red fish eggs around it. Also a perfect place for scallop lovers. The atmosphere & decor of the restaurant really adds a lot to the experience too. There were so many things on the menu that looked so delectable that I will definitely be coming back! We had a soba & scallop noodles, rainbow pokebol, gyu miso soup & soba noodles & a barachirashi bowl. All recommended!Voir plus
Great place! I've been here twice, & I was pretty happy both times. The servers are mindful, respectful, & friendly! I did not get anything big, but the poki bowls taste great! A little bit on the pricey side, but the quantities are generous. The ingredients taste very fresh too! I ordered a Salmon classic poki bowl on my first visit & a Rainbow poki bowl the 2nd time. Service was also quite fast. I did not wait long during the two times I went to this place. (The first time was really busy, too. Overall, great restaurant. I can't say much about the other food items, but I do know their rice bowls are very good too (based on my friends' opinions)Voir plus
Came here for a friend's birthday dinner after 6 pm on a Sunday & were seated immediately. The service was quick & the fish was very fresh! I really recommend the rainbow poke bowl but the menu has sooo many options (including vegetarian options!)Voir plus
The fusion of foie gras & japanese food are mouthwatering. Definitely recommend the salmon roll with foie gras & unagi with foie gras rice bowl. Those two are out of this world.Voir plus
