J'ai adoré ce restaurant. Le service était incroyable. Nicolas & Karo ont été des hôtes fantastiques. La nourriture était au dessus de mes attentes. Je recommande à tous ceux qui désirent vivre une belle expérience culinaire de s'arrêter au Yama dans la belle ville de Montreal.
This was by far the worst restaurant experience I've ever had.
My husband & I were in Montreal for the week, staying at the Four Seasons. We understand that Yama is a high-end restaurant, & we have no issue paying a premium when the quality & experience justify it. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
We had dinner at Marcus the night before & really enjoyed it, so we decided to try Yama since it was nearby. We started with the nigiri omakase & sashimi omakase, but they were honestly underwhelming & not what we expected from a high-end sushi restaurant. We told ourselves that maybe it was just the sushi & that the main courses would be better. Unfortunately, they weren't. The cocktails were also disappointing.
For the main course, I ordered the salmon, which was not cooked properly, while my husband ordered the Prime New York Strip. We asked for it medium-well, but it came out overcooked. At these prices, I expect the food to be prepared properly.
The service was also disappointing. We were served by Nikola, & there was a lot of back & forth. The service was very slow, it took a long time for someone to come back to our table.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience from the food to the service. I would not recommend this restaurant, especially at these prices.

• Idéal pour les rendez-vous d'affaires : L'atmosphère chic & distinguée en fait le cadre parfait pour un dîner ou un lunch professionnel. On remarque d'ailleurs que plusieurs tables y sont installées pour des rencontres d'affaires.

Authentic Japanese cuisine with great flavors & high-quality ingredients. Everything we tried was delicious, & the atmosphere was excellent. A special thanks to our server, Alex, who was incredibly friendly, attentive, & made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended!
Food was really good , service so bad .
Very disappointing experience. The managers were extremely unprofessional, disrespectful, & clearly didn't know how to manage the restaurant. They showed no concern for customers or for resolving issues. Their attitude made the entire experience unpleasant. I would not recommend this restaurant as long as it is managed this way.
Un immense merci à notre serveur, Louis, qui a offert un service exceptionnel du début à la fin. Attentif, chaleureux & soucieux que nous passions un bon moment, il a toujours pris le temps de bien nous accompagner. Comme nous hésitions dans le choix du vin, il nous a proposé de faire appel au sommelier afin de nous conseiller la meilleure bouteille pour accompagner nos plats. Cette attention a vraiment été appréciée, & la recommandation était excellente!
La nourriture était délicieuse, les plats étaient savoureux & parfaitement exécutés.

Absolutely amazing food & beautiful ambiance. Talia was an incredible, attentive, & highly accommodating server... highly recommend this spot. Sushi at a super high level, with a very solid wine list to support.
