The creation of young, up and coming Montreal restaurateurs, Wienstein & Gavino’s debuted in Montreal in 1996. W&G is a large Mediterranean restaurant spanning two floors and complimented by two terraces in the summer months. A large bar is the focal point of the first floor while the open kitchen complete with brick pizza oven is the main attraction upstairs. W&G is best known for its fresh, homemade pasta and traditional sauces and thin crust pizza. There is also a good selection of steaks, veal, and seafood. W&G serves lunch and dinner every day with a weekly table d’hôte available daily at $12-$16 for lunch and starting at $23 for dinner. In addition, a selection of pizza and pasta is available for 10$ from 11a.m. until 3p.m. for the lunch crowd and after 10pm every day for late night diners looking for a meal after the game, a concert downtown or before hitting the dance floor. W&G can also accommodate groups and can plan your party for you whether you’ve invited 10 people or 300 people! From Monday to Friday there is a “happy hour” at the W&G bar where guests can enjoy 2 for 1 from 4pm until 8pm. After cocktails at the bar, you can choose from one of the largest wine cellars in the city, stocked with reasonably priced wines, private imports, or premium fine wines. Wow ! Si vous cherchez de vraies pâtes fraîches, c'est ici qu'il faut venir, c'est excellent. Les pizzas sont aussi très réussies, mention spéciale pour celle aux champignons. Mais ce qui marque le plus, c'est le large choix de pâtes & leur fraîcheur irréprochable. Amateurs de bonnes pâtes, vous êtes au bon endroit.
I've been coming to this Italian restaurant for over 15 years, & it's always exceptional. The food is delicious - pasta, pizza, salads, & great wine. The service is consistently warm & attentive. They make you feel at home. A true Italian gem in Montreal that never disappoints.

Le décor était effectivement très beau, mais malheureusement cela s'arrête là. Les prix étaient élevés, donc je m'attendais à une nourriture de qualité en conséquence. Or, la nourriture était franchement décevante, voire affreuse. Pour le prix payé, j'aurais honnêtement pu faire bien mieux à la maison. Très mauvaise expérience sur le plan culinaire.
We gave this place a chance based on reviews, but the service was a nightmare. The staff has zero internal communication. We were stopped at the door & treated like criminals for trying to step outside for a smoke, even though we told a waitress & left our bags at the table as a guarantee. The management was incredibly rude & dismissive until the moment we paid; then their attitude suddenly shifted.
We specifically asked if our food would stay, but we came back upstairs to find our table cleared & our meal in takeout boxes anyway. It felt like we were profiled & judged because we were in sweatpants, as they didn't bother to listen to us until they had our money. The manager tried to fix it with a free drink, but the night was already ruined. As for the food, the ravioli was okay, but the soup was nothing special & the Manzo pasta was very'mid' & lacked flavor. Save your money & go somewhere where the staff treats customers with basic respect.
L'ambiance est agréable & chaleureuse. Cependant, le menu n'explique pas exactement la composition des plats. Dans le cas de l'osso buco avec spaghetti aglio e olio, le plat est servi complètement nappé de sauce tomate/pomodoro, ce qui n'est pas indiqué dans le menu, une sauce qui ne convient pas au plat & le rend extrêmement lourd & écoeurant.
La serveuse chatrinne elle a rendu notre expérience plus agréable avec son professionnalisme & son service aussi le barmaid Diego est un phénomène ,on oublie pas Billy même il n'ai pas notre serveur mais toujours il s'occupe de nous
