Review Summary

Vivaldi has earned a reputation as a must-visit destination in Montreal, frequently praised for its delicious, authentic Italian cuisine and generous portion sizes. Diners consistently highlight the high quality of home-style dishes, such as fresh pasta, seafood, and homemade desserts like tiramisu, which are prepared from scratch with clear care. The atmosphere is often described as warm and cozy, making it a great choice for family gatherings, celebrations, and casual dinners alike. While the restaurant can become quite busy and lively, the attentive and professional staff ensure that guests feel welcome and well-cared for throughout their meal. With the added benefit of being a bring-your-own-wine establishment and offering excellent value, Vivaldi is widely considered a hidden gem that leaves a lasting impression on visitors and locals.

Food was good, but really nothing to bring home. For examples on the pasta, they use Parmesan cheese instead of Parmesiano, which just doesn't taste the same
Portion wise is pretty good, big enough for one person but might be lacking if you're hungry
Taste wise it could be better, it's lacking a certain freshness in most of its
ingredients. Pasta is overcooked

Service wasn't very good we waiting a long time & as it turns out our server was late so there weren't anybody to take our orders

Bring your own wine big plus

I went to Vivaldi for my birthday dinner & left completely satisfied! They had a new type of veal scallopini with a Dijon mustard, pesto, white wine & cream sauce that was *incredible* & definitely belongs on the permanent menu. The minestrone was great, tender veggies & not too salty. For dessert, I had tiramisu & they certainly didn't skimp on the portion size! All in all a delicious & very reasonably priced meal.

It was Noel Party of my wife's office, we arrived a bit earlier than we should. At the time, there were no more than 5 tables, & waitres toke at least 20 minutes or more to come & get our drinks, but with the service of the drinks & all the rest of served dishes it was the same, every time they have to ask to whom belongs food or drinks, so the service was near to a complet disaster, horrible, the only thing that save them from giving lower rate it's because they were really young & kind, but very disoriented like beginners, food quality wasn't that bad but nothing extraordinary, even Tiramisu dessert, even been an Italian restaurant, I thought it could have been better, but ordinary tending to low level, the boy that opens our bottle of wine, didn't even cut the capsule correctly & put the cork with the wet down on the table just like that, but the personal was very young, so lest hope they will learn. At the end, one of my table mates order cream as dessert & it was flan but I didn't recognize what exactly was, so I messed, because I love it, so many ways to called, flan, caramel custard, or even the popular known name in Italian language. Maybe I will not come back to the place, I wish good luck to them & have a merry Christmas

Ok. So I reviewed the reviews of this restaurant & immediately got the feeling that this is a version of the famous sources boulevard Italian eateries called Del Friscos. I happen to generally enjoy Del Friscos so I thought I would try Vivaldis. So here is the review. Interior. Basic & lacking sound absorption so it's quite a noisy place - but so is Del Friscos for the same reason. Value. Portion is reasonable as is the freshness of ingredients. In terms of what you're going to eat as a dish on the whole this is a little different. We had a house salad, cheese pizza, & chicken Parmesan with tomato sauce & noodles as its accompaniment. The pizza sauce lacked zest & it tasted on the bland side. The dough was fine in flavour & texture but was a very floppy crust line a dominos or pizza pizza crust & you can only eat this by folding the slice it using a knife & fork. Salad was a good portion with nice ingredients though appears bland as there is no flair to it such as shaved Parmesan or colourful veggies except for a hot pepper. The chicken parm was the weakest dish. The chicken was about 25% while the breading was about 75% & was also cooked too much & tasted somewhat burnt. When you cut into the chicken all the breading fell off indicating poor technique in the breading if the chicken. The size of the thinned out chicken breast was actually not very large are you remove all the breading & as such your made to think you have a large portion with all the cheese covered breaded chicken, where in fact there very little chicken which at near $30 it should have a decent sized piece of chicken. An example of a proper sized chicken breast can easily be seen at Del Friscos where it's always juicy (here it was thin & consequently dry), moist, tender, lightly breaded where the breading remains on the chicken when you cut into it. Additionally there is not sufficient sauce which is one of the cheapest ingredients & should not be skimped on. As with the pasta it was really nothing special. A small portion of noodles & then a lack lustre tomato sauce. I like more sauce to my pasta as it's what it's all about, unless you have fresh pasta. & as such asked for extra sauce. There was no extra sauce & the noodles were lightly touched with the sauce. Now some people believe that this is the way to eat their noodles however I am not of the same kind. So if you enjoy little sauce with your pasta the. You are just fine. The slightly warmed buns we fine & had a lovely aroma, however, the type of bread they use makes it not as soft & a harder chewy crusty that's even a slight challenge to test it apart in two. Not that the issue is strength to split, the point is to have a light airy almost pollowy roll. Bring your own wine is nice. Service was adequate as well. The audience appears to be a majority of 55 years & older so perhaps this is like a Miami early bird crowd. Not a date night place.

I love this hidden Gem! The chicken parmigiana was the best I ever had. I changed my pasta for some tortellini rosée & we shared a pizza ( bacon onions for me ) everything was amazing. Good service, nice ambiance & you can bring your own wine/beer. Will be back!

We have dined at Vivaldi Pierrefonds every 2 weeks or so for the past year. We find the food is exceptional. It is a bring your own wine restaurant. I love their Vivaldi subs with Italian Sausage while my wife loves their pizza's. We have also had their penne romanoff which is also great. To top it all off, the service is outstanding. Every one of the waiters or waitresses have done an outstanding job while we were there. The owners are always present so things always run efficiently. Just a great restaurant.
