Portions are large, & there's lots to choose from. Chef Steve is super kind, comes to every table to say hello when he can, so it makes for a fun night.
Awesome! We were traveling from Chicago to Quebec, & made sure to stop in Montreal just to visit Vivaldi. The food was amazing & the service was excellent. Chef Steve even dropped by our table to say hello & chat for a few minutes. Highly recommend trying the calamari & the linguine tetrazini, but everything was great. Hope to come back soon!
Visiting Montreal for a few days & definitely had to visit Vivaldi since I've been a huge fan of Chef Steve for a long time. The food & service went above & beyond my expectations.
The grilled octopus had a wonderful char-grilled flavour to it which was complemented by the capers & onions, & the seasoning oil tied all the flavours together beautifully.
The calf liver was soft, slightly sweet, & had such a great flavour to it, not to mention the demiglace that it was served with - I could eat just the sauce with some bread & be a happy man. The grilled vegetables were great for soaking up all the sauce & juices from the liver.
The tiramisu was soft, moist, & the sweetness of the cream was wonderfully contrasted by the deep, rich, bitterness of the cocoa powder.
Maximus took care of me & he was incredibly attentive & friendly despite how busy the restaurant was on a Saturday evening.
Huge thanks to Steve for taking the time to come meet & chat with me at the table, it was an absolute pleasure - I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town.
Because we are watching Vivaldi chef Steve on YouTube for a while.
We reserved & dine at Vivaldi on Thursday.
Oh my God! It's not just a hype. Everything was perfect. The restaurant is nice & big. The staff are super & professional. Our server was''Jade'', she's a real Perle. It's an open kitchen, so you can see 6 chefs working hard, but seems loving cooking. Dave (Steven's brother) is the symphony conductor. Both of them are so nice & friendly. I had (I think, the best plate on earth) the grilled octopus for appetizer. The home made sausage is also very good. The chocolate Grand marinier cheesecake is Devine. It's a bring you own wine/beer restaurant. & the prices are less than any other restaurant. What's not to love about it. Thank you Steven & Dave for a wonderful experience. We'll be back real soon. Even with a 2 hour drive.
I was in Montreal with my family during our vacation & we went for dinner at Vivaldi. Got to meet Chef Steve & he was wonderful. Staff was friendly, food was tasty & big portions. Grilled Octopus & Vanilla crème brûlée was our favourite. Will visit again when visiting Montreal. Best wishes to now famous Chef Steve & Vivaldi restaurant!
I have traveled to many different states & a few countries, & while visiting Montreal from the U.S., someone recommended this restaurant. I'm so glad they did!
The food was amazing. We ordered the eggplant Parmesan appetizer & the fried zucchini, & both were incredible. The zucchini was light, crispy, & airy-we couldn't stop eating it.
We had the opportunity to meet Chef Steve, chat with him, & even take a few pictures. He was wonderful! The waitress & everyone on the staff were so kind, welcoming, & attentive.
For our meals, we ordered the poached salmon, veal with vegetables, & I had the spaghetti Bolognese. Every single bite was delicious.
We also took home the chocolate ganache cheesecake for dessert, & it was just as amazing as everything else.
I would give this restaurant more than five stars if I could. This was some of the best food my family & I have ever had. Chef Steve & his staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door until the moment we left. It was a dining experience we'll never forget, & we will definitely be back.
I highly recommend this restaurant-but be sure to make a reservation!
The food was amazing. The customer service was topnotch. The head chef even visited our table & visited with my family. This was a personal touch the will bring my family back to eat many times in the future. Thank you Vivaldi for everything it was amazing.
Everything is made from scratch.. its so good!! chef Steve is the best
Ever since chef Steve's videos started popping up on my YouTube shorts, I told myself I'd eat at Vivaldi the next time I was in Montréal. The food looked amazing on screen, & I wanted to experience it in person.
One day the stars aligned when my friends & I did a Montréal day trip from Ottawa. The plan was, after a day of activities, to wrap up our trip by having dinner at Vivaldi before making the drive back. I need to make it known that this was one of the best experiences I've had at a restaurant. From the food to the service, everything was incredible.
Our waiter Max was attentive & on the ball with everything. His knowledge of the menu was high & his personality was friendly.
We even had chef Steve come to our table. He chatted with us for a bit about the restaurant & the YouTube channel. Super friendly guy & a great interaction! (To be fair, this was outside the dinner rush when he had a chance to step away from cooking for a couple of minutes).
I ordered the Linguine Amalfitana with a rosé sauce. & yes, it tasted as good as it looked.
I'm definitely coming back the next time I'm in Montréal. Thank you for the lovely experience! It was one I won't forget.
