Loved this restaurant experience, easily in my top ten meals of all time. The staff were kind & incredibly knowledgeable. We picked a few of the dishes that interested us the most & the team was able to bring us four balanced courses with drinks to match. The food was innovative, but never to the point you didn't know what you were eating. The chef did all the ingredients justice. I hope the next time I am back in Montreal, I'm able to secure another reservation.Voir plus
"Vin mon lapin" : une déception relative J'avais de grandes attentes pour ce restaurant réputé, mais l'expérience s'est révélée mitigée. Quelques points positifs : La truite en feuille de bette à carde était savoureuse, bien que servie tiède. Cependant, plusieurs lacunes ont terni le repas : Les croque-pétoncles manquaient cruellement de saveur. Le dessert'Miel & Sarrasin', pourtant emblématique du restaurant, était décevant avec un goût insipide rappelant le carton mouillé. La joue de porc, malgré sa cuisson parfaite, manquait de goût. Bien que Vin mon lapin soit un bon restaurant, il ne mérite pas, à mon avis, son classement parmi les meilleurs restaurants du Canada ces deux dernières années. L'expérience ne correspond pas au battage médiatique dont il fait l'objet. Un point particulièrement frustrant : l'attente pour réserver est inversement proportionnelle au plaisir ressenti lors du repas. La difficulté à obtenir une table crée des attentes que la cuisine ne parvient malheureusement pas à satisfaire. De plus le restaurant est extrêmement bruyant, ce qui rend le tout assez désagréable, les panneaux acoustiques sont présents mais ne semblent pas suffire. En résumé, une cuisine correcte mais qui ne répond pas aux attentes suscitées par sa réputation & la difficulté à y réserver une table.Voir plus

Absolutely loved the croque-petoncle! If you like seafood, you should totally give it a try. The bread was buttery & toasted to perfection. The petoncle filling was delicious. Our server recommended that we pair it with the cucumbers. They were fresh & super tasty. Keep in mind that the prices are very steep. I would even argue it is too expensive for what it is. I ordered the lobster & it literally had 4 pieces of lobster. It was delicious, but not worth the price. The lamb was also cooked to perfection, soft, & salty from the anchovies. It was basically perfect. But again, super overpriced portion wise. On a better note, the servers were super attentive & kind. My plate & cutlery was always clean. & they refilled my water all the time, which showed just how attentive & present they were. The best thing was the dessert. The crostata with grappa was crumbly, buttery, & the grappa was on point. It was sweet, light, & absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed it, but I don't think I'll come back again, mostly because of the prices.Voir plus

J'ai récemment dîné chez Mon Lapin & j'ai été enchanté par l'expérience. Le restaurant est vraiment magnifique, avec une ambiance chaleureuse & accueillante. Les plats sont savoureux & magnifiquement présentés. Chaque bouchée était un plaisir, & le dessert était également trop bon, ajoutant une touche finale parfaite à un repas déjà excellent. It always takes me aback that I can step out of my door & walk a few meters to one of the best restaurants in Canada, probably North America. There's always something different & delicious to try (the crusted scallops are a must). With locally sourced fresh food & wine. The service is absolutely excellent!Voir plus

Great food!! We got lucky for our first visit in having a waitress who brought us plates of her choice that were very well-paired together & was a comprehensive take on their offerings that evening. We weren't so lucky the second visit 😅 but the food is incredible. We'll be more discerning for our follow-up visits. Cuisine inventive, créative & originale. Tartare de boeuf, croquant de pétoncles, couteaux, agneau braisé & desserts. TOUT était bon & préparé avec génie. Un bistro, pas un resto chic où tout est dans le décor. Pas de présentation en trois étages, avec des micro-pousse. Vaisselle dépareilée & service hyper sympa, amical & efficace. Outstanding from start to finish. Since we were visiting from San Francisco we booked a month in advance (quite necessary) & were so happy when they called the day of to offer an earlier time. I've never been a big fan of natural wine but the somm here may have nearly converted us! Every dish was delicious & tasted of technique & passion, we especially loved the tartare. We rarely ordered dessert but were happy we did & we tasted some absolutely amazing amaro. Service was truly gracious & exceptional in all respects. If the warmth of your grandma's kitchen somehow was met with the laughter of friends you went to school with - that's Vin Mon Lapin. Nothing pretentious, but exquisite dish that was assembled by the orchestra conductor of food. Inventive, bold, all familiar. The wait staff here is nothing short of your best friend. Sit at the bar, right in front of Dominique Lafond's plaque, which was put there as a friendly joke for the restaurant's unofficial/official photographer - only friends do this sort of thing - & watch the place bloom & unfold. Talk to the discerning bartender Dimitry. How is it possible that this place exists nestled between the Maple tree lined streets of Little Italy in Montreal. From the outside you'd never guess that a whole world of culinary excellence & hospitality was unfolding. Hear the cornucopia of languages mixing under one roof. Here the staff cares so much that they'd, on their own, suggest a vegetarian dish made to appropriate proportions. They don't just remove the meat. Here the compose an even more elevated version, just for you. Dessert is equality impeccable - they don't relent with one awesome dish. How is it they manage to fill the menu with the season's best & varied treats? This is the place you've never been to but feels like you were always here - in your culinary dreams.
