Had a very enjoyable time at Vieux-Port Steakhouse. We both ordered the garlic shrimp which was a good portion size & very delicious. Jimmy was our server & was awesome & very friendly. Would consider this resturant on our next trip to Old Montreal.

I had an unforgettable dining experience at Vieux Port Steakhouse! The pork chop was absolutely incredible-perfectly cooked & bursting with flavor. The ambience was exquisite, creating a warm & inviting atmosphere. Our waiter, Audrey, was wonderful; her attentiveness & knowledge made the evening even more special. I paired my meal with a fantastic orange wine that added delightful complexity. The side dishes were equally impressive, each complementing the main course beautifully, from creamy mashed potatoes to vibrant seasonal vegetables. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top-notch meal!

First time in Montreal & all I have to say was Jimmy made the experience at Vieux-Port-Port Steakhouse an unforgettable experience. It was truly phenomenal. I will come back just for his hospitality & amazing service. The food was delicious & every dish that came out was full of exploding flavors. 12/10 experience & will come back soon! Thank you Jimmy!!!

We were visiting Montreal & stayed close by so decided to try the steakhouse. Jimmy our waiter was great even though the place filled up fast. He was kind & attentive as well as efficient. The food was great but the dessert was perfect. Thank you for a wonderful dinner experience.

Viande trop cuite malgré la demande de cuisson médium. À nouveau un serveur mal payé (6$ de l'heure (ou €). À tous les serveurs(euses) rebellez-vous contre vos patrons qui s'en mettent plein les poches. À 70$ le repas (1 tranche de 150g & de la purée) par personne on peut s'attendre à ce que le personnel soit mieux payé ! Une honte de la part du patron. Les serveurs(euses) on le droit d'avoir un salaire correct sans devoirs demander un pourboire. La trrrasse est jolie. Le restaurant est un steakhouse mais il n'y a que 5 ou 6 choix à la toute fin du menu. Meat overcooked despite request for medium doneness. Once again, a poorly paid waiter ($6 an hour or €). All waiters & waitresses, rebel against your bosses who are lining their pockets. At $70 a meal (1 slice of 150g & mashed potatoes) per person, you'd expect the staff to be paid more! Shame on the owner. Waiters & waitresses are entitled to a fair wage without having to ask for a tip. The terrace is pretty. The restaurant is a steakhouse but there are only 5 or 6 choices at the very end of the menu.

Vieux-Port Steakhouse delivers an exceptional dining experience, highlighted by their perfectly cooked steaks & warm ambiance. Our server, Dave Raza, was outstanding-attentive, friendly, & knowledgeable about the menu, making our evening truly special. The Ribeye I ordered was tender & flavorful, cooked exactly to my preference, while the sides were equally delicious. Dave's recommendations elevated our meal, & his professionalism made us feel genuinely welcome. I highly recommend Vieux-Port Steakhouse for anyone looking to enjoy top-notch cuisine with exemplary service.

I enjoyed the outdoor patio & the decor. However, the seating wasn't the most comfortable compared to other restaurants in this category. Including taxes & tip, our bill for two people was over $260. The drinks were fine & met expectations, but nothing significant or memorable. The pour was reasonable for the price. We shared the Fried Calamari, which was perfectly done, & the dessert, a Crème Brûlée, was very good. Here is the big disappointment: Given they are next door to a famous steakhouse franchise, I expected Vieux-Port Steakhouse, a small restaurant, to exceed the quality of a mass-production franchise chain. We ordered two steaks, one medium & the other medium rare. Both were dry & overcooked, & even seemed boiled, with no smoke taste or signs of char-grilled cooking. Thankfully, the sauce made it easier to eat. The staff saw my dry, uninspiring steak but never bothered to ask if I was satisfied with my meal. It felt like she knew & was afraid to ask, perhaps fearful of the owner or chef. Owners should always encourage quality in their food, especially since most people today can make a simple steak & expect a professional chef to do the same. The restaurant had very few patrons, so it wasn't a case of being busy, just a careless Sunday crew (or the B Team). I am typically not this critical in reviews, but at this price point, there is an expectation, especially for a restaurant located in the food capital of Canada. I would encourage the chef to invest in a thermometer for steaks to avoid costly food waste & negative reviews. Given the many positive reviews, I might be an isolated case. I hope to visit again someday with a different experience.

Went to Montreal to celebrate our wedding anniversary & stopped at Vieux Port Steakhouse outside garden terrace just to have a drink. One night turned into 3 different visits. Elies & Kassi provided exceptional service & engagement. Would definitely recommend stopping in to enjoy their amazing service. I guarantee you will want to return.

Visited the steakhouse with a large group of friends for a stag party & I must say it was one of the best places we stopped at. Service was amazing, the decoration was beautiful & just overall great atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone visiting Montreal. Shoutout to Arthu

This place is touted as one of the better Steakhouses in Montreal. We were very disappointed in our entire experience, starting from the host, the waiters & even the quality of the food. We went there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. When we got there, I told the host that we were celebrating her birthday & that I would like if they could bring the dessert (that I was planning to order) with a little candle. He said that he would mention to the waiter (which he clearly didnt). After we were seated, outside, on a 2-person table, no one showed up to take our order. Soon after, 2 young girls walked in & were seated right next to us. Not sure who they were, but every single waiter came by their table, sometimes 2 waiters at a time, & kept talking to those girls, quite loudly. Needless to say, all the waiting staff were preoccupied with these two girls (perhaps they were the daughters of the owner who knows). Our service was pathetic, & we had to suffer this crowd of waiters coming to talk to the girls sitting next to our table, which made our dinner experience quite miserable. The steak we ordered was'meh' !! We have had much better in Montreal, in couple of other restaurants. The vegetables were boiled!! Yuck. Nothing to give a good review. When we ordered the dessert, the host (who by the way did stop by to talk to those girls) completely forgot to bring out a candle. By this time, we were disgusted with the whole experience. To top it all, the waiter, who was rather pushy & cocky, promptly shows me how to put in the 15% tip (I was looking for the custom tip button, to not tip at that level), but he punched in the 15% number for me, & it went through. I was mad at myself for not standing up to him & going back on the handheld billing machine to fix the tip. But oh well, if you are celebrating or wanting a nice dinner, do not go here. There are better places around, for your money's worth & with better service & ambience. For the owner- Please dont tell us to visit again to give you the chance to make it right. We are visiting Montreal & will never visit your restaurant again. If anything, you may want to refund me my service tip amount, which was not deserved to be given.

In a city where it's difficult to find dog friendly restaurants, even with outdoor tables in summer, the Vieux-Port Steakhouse is the perfect solution. With a lovely garden patio, excellent food, & great service by Jo, our waiter, we finally found a great place to go out while on vacation with our sweet pup. They also brought our girl her own bowl of water! Thank you to Jo & the owner of this restaurant!

Alin is one of the best waiter I met, he was very kind & suggested really good option that was worth the try ! The negroni cocktail was excellent & well-balanced. The fried calmar was so fresh & soft to eat, really delicious. I highly recommend trying those ! The oyster were good The 16oz steak was marbled with fat & cooked well but the sauces made it an even more mouth watering experience. Can't say which one to try they were all so good but the mushrooms & pepper was my favourite to pair my steak It can be a bit expensive (as many other steakhouse) but you won't be disappointed with the quality !
