Easy to find & lots of parking. The desserts are delicious & pretty. Their ice cream & homemade cones are fantastic, highly recommend.

Easily one the best bakeries in Montreal! Everything here is prepared with such precision & care & you can really tell. There are lots of really unique options & everything I've had here is a perfect 10/10. The pastries are so well-crafted, it honestly feels like an edible art exhibit. The people working here are so kind & friendly, too. Definitely a must-try for anyone in the city.

OK. When the co-operative vegan bakery Sophie Sucrée closed, I despaired. But, hey, what just opened further up on St Laurent but Vegateau Montreal!

I visited today & got a trompe-l'oeil Cocoa bean--& it was bliss!

They're still setting up after their recent move, but, once they get going, they'll have a sweet selection of cupcakes, croissants, so on & so forth!

Drop by, get a coffee & maybe a little something to keep them going until they get up to speed!

Came here for the dairy free trompe l'oeil, the lemon one is amazing! The mango is delicious but not heavy mango flavour. Cappuccino was also great, but would not recommend the matcha latte- had clumps. Limited seating with 4 chairs & 2 tables. I believe they just renovated so missing drink menu inside & haven't set up fully.

June 2026 update:
They moved to St-Laurent street & recently reopened (soft launch until end of month). They have trompe-l'oeil. Vegan & gluten-free. I am amazed! I tried all of them & my favorites are cacao & pistachio. The cacao is decadent, if you are a chocolate lover, you will be pleased. Definitely to be shared. The pistachio is delicious, lighter mouse & lovely praline. The lemon is very lemon forward, too much for me, but if you love lemon that's the one for you. The mango disappointed me, it was good, but the mango chunks through me off, the chunks tasted lime mango from fruit cups & it just ruined the dessert for me, my boyfriend still liked it. Overall great. So happy a montreal business is doing them vegan & gluten-free. Keep going vegateau team. What will be next? Raspberry? Peanut? Even if they stick with those 4, I will definitely be back. The cacao & pistachio trompe l'oeil are my favorite things they sell.

Amazing business! Everything is delicious: ice cream, sugar cone, tartlet, & cupcakes. I had the coffee ice cream, choco chip oce cream, caramel cupcake, brownie, & lemon tart. Everything was great. The staff is lovely! Great presentation too :)
