Designed by the renowned Speakeasy team, the interior of Vandale Restaurant housed in a historic building, reflects the hip sensibilities of the Old Port and Griffintown. Arranged on several levels, this restaurant allows you to observe the 'Street Art' of a dozen Montreal artists. The spectacle is all at once in the hall, on the walls and in the open kitchen. Agréable soirée au SpeakEasy, décoration originale & ambiance feutrée. Un resto avec un très beau menu, les plats étaient savoureux & bien présentés, que dire des accras de morue quel délice ! & quelle façon originale de choisir sa bouteille de vin!!
On s'y sent bien au SpeakEasy, je le recommande vivement .
C'était exceptionnel, 2 fois qu'on y retourne depuis la réouverture, un de mes resto favoris de Montréal. Le personnel est adorable & à l'écoute. Les portions sont (très) généreuses & delicieuses.
J'adore l'entrée cachée typique des Speakeasy!
Je conseille le camembert rôti, la tarte aux champignons, le carpaccio de thon, la crème brûlée & le gâteau au fromage.
J'y retournerai encore & toujours !
La nouvelle mouture du speakeasy est géniale! J'étais déjà fan avant les rénovations, mais maintenant c'est encore mieux! La cuisine est délicieuse & la sélection des vins est vraiment impressionnante (dans une exprerience de cellier vraiment cool) . Les cocktails font aussi parti de leur ADN, car ils font des ateliers dans une salle historique du sous sol. Le martini pepperoncini 🤩🤩🤩
On peut discuter & s'entendre sans crier.
Bref, trop contente d'avoir trouvé mon nouveau spot préféré!!!
My partner & I came here for the MTL à Table 2025 edition & I wasn't disappointed. The food was good & the service was great. We were super full as the portion was quite big & that was definitely worth $50/person. I love the atmosphere & the decoration were quirky but in a speakeasy-ish cute vibe. The only downside was the drink; I think I got a very average Nestea taste-like iced tea while I ordered a special mocktail.

Nice time for our final visit of the evening. Had a few drinks (all delicious) & 2 rounds of bruschetta & focaccia which hit the spot! The speakeasy is closed in December I guess (not sure when else) so we just sat at the ba
We visited Vandale Speakeasy & were really impressed by the food - everything we ordered was delicious, well-prepared, & beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the service didn't quite match the quality of the kitchen. Our share plates arrived before our tasting plates & utensils, which made things a bit awkward. Our food even showed up before our drinks, despite the bar being fairly empty (we were told the bartender was backed up). Water glasses went unfilled all night, & there were long waits between each of the three courses.
What stood out most, however, was the nonchalant attitude of both our server & the bartender. There didn't seem to be much urgency or attentiveness, which dampened what could have been an otherwise fantastic dining experience. Honestly, it makes sense the place was empty on a Friday night.
The food alone makes Vandale worth a visit, but we hope the service catches up to the level of the kitchen.
Très bons tapas, la formule 3 ou 5 plats à partager représentent un excellant rapporte qualité prix. Le resto est aussi original en terme de décoration. Les murs sont recouvert de murales psychédéliques. Avant le repas, nous avons aussi eu la chance de faire un atelier de mixologie pendant 2h dans le speakeasy au sous-sol, nous avons adoré notre expérience. C'est l'activité idéale pour une date ou un événement spécial.

Love me a good speakeasy. This one was a bit too easy to find but it made enjoying the delightful cocktails even easier. Thomas was a gracious host & Leo behind the bar a true mixology craftsman. I enjoyed the house negroni & based on that, followed it up with Leo's choice. He picked the Side Car for me. Direct hit! Way to go Leo!! Chill video, no pretension, amazing cocktails, $1 oysters for 5a7. Good spot for cocktails after work. Shared plates look delicious but I was solo & the plates would have been better shared so I skipped out for an excuse to come back. The Prix Fixe looks reasonable too. Come with a large party & share family style after work or before a night on the town.
Visited for drinks at the speakeasy. Had reservations at nine, but the speakeasy wasn't opened yet. Sat at the bar in Vandale. The bartender was incredible & made a drink specifically for my taste that wasn't on the menu. The art is exceptional & makes for a very enriching experience. Spent a lot of the time looking around on the walls & enjoying our drink. The speakeasy is located downstairs right when you walk in. The speakeasy was very dark in a 20s intimate style. The drinks were absolutely phenomenal.
What a lovely way to spend an evening! The oysters were fresh & sweet, the carpaccio, fabulous, & the Caesar salad was one of the best ever. After dinner drop into the Speakeasy for a nightcap-the old fashioned was to die for!
Great place in Old Port serving excellent food for a resonable price. There are a lot of choices on the menu, with different types of fish, seafood, meats, & veggies, which is suitable for everyone with dietary restrictions. We got the 4 course menu for 53$ & had lots of food. I especially loved the scallops, they were phenomenal with the celeriac purée. Cocktails are a form of art here, thoughfully imagined & created with passion. They are researched & well balanced with unique flavours that work perfectly. A place that is artfully decorated with local artists artwork. Don't forget to visit the Speakeasy downstairs! It's a vibe!

L'expérience & l'ambiance sortent vraiment de l'ordinaire. On entre dans un univers artistique qui va des murs jusqu'aux plats & aux boissons. On se sent à l'aise, bien accueilli & bien servi. Les plats sont magnifiques à regarder & délicieux en bouche. J'ai vraiment beaucoup aimé tout ce qui m'a été servi, tous les ingrédients de chaque plat se marient très bien. Texture, goût, équilibre, tout y est à chaque fois. Les cocktails sont élaborés, goûteux & uniques. Il y a un véritable génie artistique derrière tous les cocktails. Il y en a un pour tous les goûts. Il y a même un speakeasy sur place. L'ambiance est superbe, on pénètre dans un concept de bar caché. On se détend, on passe un bon moment avec le personnel. Vraiment de belles soirées en perspective. Je vous conseille vivement d'y faire un tour.
Très bonne place, belle ambiance funky. Plats excellents! Les saveurs se distinguent les unes des autres. Savoureux! Le speakeasy du sous-sol (bar clandestin) est excellent, avant ou après le repas, ou juste en soirée, entres amis ou en amoureux.
