I did not want to visit Montreal & not experience some of the local Jazz scene. My only regret was not inquiring on buying a tee shirt. Next time I visit Montreal, Upstairs Jazz Barr & Grill is definitely going to be a priority for me.
Nous y avons passé une très belle soirée, qui m'a fait retomber en amour avec le Jazz, une expérience à revivre très bientôt !!
Awesome spot for live jazz, the musicians playing when we were there were just incredible. They have various shows every week. The food was mid, but to be fair you don't really go here for the food. Still pretty good. Our waitress was super nice 😊 Show costs 15$ on top of your meal, but the food is reasonably priced.
Amazing place to listen to live jazz! The service is good, & the food too. Plus, you get to listen to nice jazz for 10+ CAD. Definitely a must for people visiting Montréal.
Good jazz music - burger was dry, fries grissy & not fresh, the medium duck was well-done, but tasty.
Matured & Intimate spot with a narcotic musical live genre of , jazz of vast majority. Service impeccably inviting attentatively concerned to allow an amazing experience of cocktails & a variety of cuisines with modest affordable pricing every time.
Amazing jazz bar in the heart of MTL. Highly recommended to jazz lovers. Food is amazing. Place is cozy.
We've been here many times & it's always a great experience. Great jazz, good food, excellent service & a fun atmosphere
The burger was good. Fries were average. But I paid $10 for jazz, when the live music hadn't started yet! I asked the waiters twice to bring my beer, but it was so late!
Montreal is great for live jazz venues, so we went there on a recommendation. Ten dollar cover, but I'm ok with that when there's live music. Really cool atmosphere, & since it was a jam night, there was a wide range of musicians showing off their various talents. Will be stopping in again for sure!
Classic dinner & show experience! Well organized jazz bar with an emphasis on your jazz listening experience 👌 Food was standard bistro fare selection, not bad. Good prices & great service 👍The duck dish was pleasant.
Last Friday night , the Marianne Trudel Trio was superb in their interpretation of Jobim's music. Ms. Trudel's improvisational skill is remarkably subtle & nuanced & the bluesy rifts she did brought down the house. As a New Yorker who hosts a jazz show & teaches jazz in film in New York City, this performance was the top of the line, exceptional in all aspects of the genre. Please give us more of the talent !! & to add she cut a finger on the keys , left the stage for four minutes as Etienne & Sacha played on & then returned to finish the piece & the set. Remarkable. Encore.
Great service. Our waiter was attentive but not intrusive. Food was fantastic. We heard the Jazz students from McGill. All of the bands put on great shows. You definitely need to make reservations. It was packed. There's no room for walk-ins. Leave a message; they really do call you back. The tacos were great! Oh & I don't know what they made their fries from, but they were delicious.
Didn't really get to experience the food or drinks there as we went when it was really packed. There was an amazing jazz band playing & we enjoyed the show but from standing near the door as all tables were taken up. In their defense, you probably have to reserve a table much in advance as the place isn't that big to accommodate too many tables.
Awesome Jazz practically every day. Great service, good food, good wine, great ambiance. One of the best jazz bars I have ever been in.
